Folk Art Kitchen Canisters

Give plain old kitchen canisters a make-over! These are great images if you are using vinyl for the first time because there was no layering involved. I picked out bright colored vinyl to match my kitchen. I used 3 different images for each canister so I could change the look once in a while!

OTHER MATERIALS NEEDED

  • Vinyl
  • Transfer Tape
  • Squeegee Tool or Credit Card
  • Glass Containers

STEP-BY-STEP How-TO INSTRUCTIONS

Measure the height and width of your canisters. Place vinyl on cutting mat. I used medium pressure, medium speed and blade set at 3 (or 3-3-3) to cut vinyl. .
Using yellow vinyl- Cut 1- Sugar Bowl 4"width. Cut 1 letter "S" 3.5" height. Cut 1- word spell out "Sugar" 4" width. Using pink vinyl- Cut 1 Teacup 4" width. Cut 1 letter "C" 3.5" height. Cut 1 letters spell out "COFFEE" 4" width.
Using green vinyl. Cut 1 Teapot 4" width. Cut 1 letter "T" 2.5" height. Cut 1 letters spell out "TEA" 3.5"width.

Peel back vinyl around cuts so just your image is left.
Place transfer tape on top of image and run squeegee tool or credit card across the top.
Peel back transfer tape. Your image will now be to attached to transfer tape and ready to be applied.
Place image on top of glass container. Rub squeegee tool over top of transfer tape to smooth out. Slowly peel back transfer top and your vinyl image will now be applied to your container.

Peel back transfer tape. Your image will now be to attached to transfer tape and ready to be applied.

Step 5

Place image on top of glass container. Rub squeegee tool over top of transfer tape to smooth out. Slowly peel back transfer top and your vinyl image will now be applied to your container.
