Using my cricut mini I created these cute sewing cards to hand out the first day of school to teachers, and staff.

CRICUT ®: WHAT WAS USED

OTHER MATERIALS NEEDED

  • Red cardstock
  • Ivory cardstock
  • copic markers for stem and leaf

STEP-BY-STEP How-TO INSTRUCTIONS

Once all the pieces are cut it is time to assemble the card. Cut out the stem and leaf on the red apples.
Color the stem and leaf on the ivory card stock front and back, or you can cut more card stock in the color and glue them on. I used my copic markers to color my stem and leaf.
I bought my sewing supplies at the dollar tree, so you can make allot of cards with just a couple dollars.
Using a 2x2 inch fabric square, I folded it in half, pinned a hand sewing needle to it, a safety pin, and glued a button on. I then glued the fabric to the inside of the card. Using thread I wrapped it around the inside of the card several times, and used masking take to tape the back of the ivory cardstock to keep the thread in place.
I then took both red cardstock apples and added the front and back to the ivory card. Using a adjustable button as a brad, and my flower shoppe scallop flower to the hole to keep it together. This project was very easy and fast. I made eight in less than half an hour.
Using plantim schoolbook, tall ball apple, around 4". I made four on a sheet, and reversed two so the holes will line up when assembling. I then cut out the four images in red cardstock.
I then repeated step one but used ivory cardstock for the inside of the apple.
I then used a green cardstock to add the flower shoppe flower. I used scallop four, at about one inch. I used two to make the flower. You can cut our allot if you plan to make many, or just cut out the two and save the paper.
