SOUTHWEST CONTEST ROUGH & READY LAY OUT
Design by: Susan (6 Projects)
Project skill level: moderate
Project time: 2 hours to 3 hours
Project tags: Kids Family Layouts Scrapbook Layouts Southwest
The new Southwest cartridge was just what I needed for this 12 x 12 lay out featuring a photo of my husband in January 1958 playing with his Fort Apache Cowboys & Indians play set and his 1956-1957 school picture. If you already have "Old West," and are thinking you don't need "Southwest," you're wrong! These two cartridges go together like a hand and a glove!

STEP-BY-STEP How-TO INSTRUCTIONS
Images from the Southwest Cartridge used in this project were: Teepees cut at 3" and 5"; totem pole cut at 4.5"; Sunset with cactus cut at 4.5". On the teepees and totem pole, I cut the first layer in brown card stock and a second layer in maroon. On the maroon layer, I used the "hide contour" feature (so easy to use in Cricut Craftroom!) and hid all of the cut outs so that the maroon would show through the brown layer. I cut the shadow images in yellow card stock. All images were inked with rust colored ink before assembling.
Images from the Old West cartridge were: covered wagon cut at 2.5", wood fence frame around sentiment cut at 2.5" and Rough & Ready cut at 1". Each image was inked with rust colored ink before assembling.
