STEP-BY-STEP How-TO INSTRUCTIONS
This is very time consuming. I first had to choose which sayings would go together and the background colors. I put Valentine's on one side and the 4th of July on the other and painted the edge red. St. Patricks day and Easter together and painted the edge green. Halloween and Thanksgiving and painted the edge black. The Christmas ones on one board and painted the edges red.
Using the Word Collage cartridge and the Cricut Craftroom I stretched each design to fit a 12x12 mat. Using my Expression 2 machine, I set the pressure at 3 and the blade depth at 3 and did a test cut to make sure it was cutting the vinyl only. I did two sets of boards at the same time, So I cut each design in both of the colors. For example, the Valentine board I cut one pink vinyl and one red vinyl.
After cutting out all the Vinyl I cut out the parts I wanted to switch in the two colors. For example, in the 4th of July i cut out the America and Stars and Stripes in both the red and white vinyl and taped them into the opposit vinyl. The stars I switched by hand.
After switching the colors of vinyl. Take the transfer tape and put it on the vinyl and using a plastic scraper, rub it to make sure all the vinyl goes to the transfer tape. Then put the transfer tape with the vinyl on it, over the board and using a plastic scraper, rub it on the board.
