Bitten By the Bug
Alas, the longer I live the more apparent it becomes that I just don't have time to do everything I'd like within a measly 24 hour day. Using Cricut products aids me in making the best use of my treasured creative time. Cricut makes it easy to accomplish so much more quality crafting with my time and efforts. Every day, more crafters are discovering the wonderful and revolutionary line of product that Cricut has to offer. The happy ranks of those bitten by the bug are growing daily. Cricuteers are facilitated in creating just about every type of craft imaginable; scrapbooks, cards, crafts, gifts, home projects, and decor...the list goes on and on.
We were pleased to hear that celebrity and skilled crafter Mark Montano has also been bitten by the bug. He reports in a Craftzine piece that, "[I] recently discovered something that made this project sing, and I must write about. It's called the
Cricut Expression. I swear I'm not paid by this company; in fact, I have recently started stalking them and I'm sure they will be filing a restraining order any day now."
Click here to read more about how he used the the Cricut Expression machine and incorporated images from the Cricut
Blackletter Solutions Cartridge into a beautiful Faux Wood Intarsia Headboard. Welcome Mark! ; )
And welcome to all of our newest Cricuteers who have discovered the joys of crafting the Cricut way every day.
Happy Cricuting :-)

My very very close mb friend is going to Disney, so I wanted to make something special for her 3 girls (all princesses I might add). They are taking a road trip, so I thought it was a wonderful opportuity to not only make an autograph book, but a journal as well.
As you can see, there are 3 heart shaped tabs: (1) Journaling their trip (2) Autographs and (3) blank pages for scrapbooking photos. This way, they can look back and their book will all be in their own words, own handwriting, and decorated how they like.
I made a book 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 book with my BIA. I decided to put 30 pages of white card stock in, front and back totals 60 pages to cover the family vacation. *
The images were from Dreams Come True cut at 8 inches. Of course embellished up with stickles, stickles, and more stickles, flat back pearls and rhinestones. (A girl has to have her BLING)! Mickey Font was used for the inside front cover for the names, and the crown was from Dreams Come True Also.
I tied a ribbon to the spiral bound binding attached to a mini RSVP pen so it can't be lost, and it tucks in nicely into the binding for storage. I made 3 of these with Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. |

TIPS TREASURE CHEST - A Crafty Reminder
As you know, the Cricut is able to slice through more consumables than paper. It is always helpful to use the blade cut guide when cutting a variety of materials. Here are some helpful tips for you to follow.

CARTRIDGE EXPLORATION - Life is a Beach
This week has been crazy as usual. I've spent many hours helping my mother get ready for my brother's open house reception. Every time a family member gets married, I think "why are weddings so much work!" but then once everything is in place, the room looks so pretty and you get to visit with family and friends. That must be why weddings are so much work. For this exploration, I was able to get my hands on one of the new cartridges,
Life is a Beach so I could discover and unveil its contents for all you Cricut fans. Look for this cartridge exclusively found in a few bundle sets at your local craft stores.

My favorite part of getting a new cartridge is to discover what the new creative features are, in this cartridge you get: Layers, Title Words, Border, Photo Card, Square Card, and Charm. Obviously the Layer feature works with the original set of letters and images. When I first got this cartridge, I thought it was full of images, but to my surprise I discovered that I also got letters with this cartridge. WOW! Everything I need all in one cartridge. Along with the letters, you also get a full set of numbers and some symbols. When I first looked through the handbook that comes with the cartridge, I found that the letters were not in order, so sang the alphabet song in my head to make sure all of the letters in the alphabet were included in this cartridge.
As you have probably figured out, most of the images that are in this cartridge coordinate with the beach theme, and you are correct. I am in love with the flowers on this cartridge! Some of the images that come on this cartridge are: palm trees, a bird of paradise flower, plumier, hibiscus, palm leaves, palm tree on an island, mermaid, hula girl, sun, waves, flamingo, tiki masks, toucan bird, fish, scuba diver, fishbowl, octopus, shark, sail boat, umbrella, sandcastle, swimming suits, star fish, sand dollar, sea shells, seaweed, seahorse, sea animals, turtles, skull, treasure chest, helm, cruise ship, light house, beach ball, beach chair, and some other beach type of items.
I just checked out the
www.Cricut.com website and looked at the message board regarding this cartridge. I found some of the cutest ideas! One that I just love to death is the baby shower ideas that
teriberi did. Here is the
link to her blog for details on how to make these images. Teri did such a wonderful job on her designs I just had to point them out. Too bad I just completed our family wedding.
Check back next week as I continue to explore the creative features in this cartridge. Happy Cricuting!
