I'm reading about everyone's "freezed up" and DOA units and feeling scared to even play with mine. I turned it on it came on fine, then I plugged it in to charge it but the little round charge plug didn't seem to plug into the unit all the way is that normal?

No worries.  Breathe.  There are TONS of fabulously helpful people here on these boards at the ready.  Don't take away the joy of your new toy with too much anxiety!

Remember that some of the "problems" might be as simple as "user error".  Breathe and watch videos... it helps.  Here's a good blog with great videos

I did not have ds before so I was nervous with the gypsy but it WAS the posters on the board who were discussing and sharing all that they were learning so I said, what the heck. I can learn too..

Becuase of all the helpful hints and you tube videos I am loving the gypsy!! and my projects..
I WOULD NEVER  have tried a board book but that is what is in the brewing now.

Best Wishes with your new adventures with the gypsy.

I love my G!  I haven't had any problems, except for not being able to cut welded, flipped words.  But I can live without that until it is fixed.  Have fun!!!  Don't be afraid to ask questions.  We've all been newbies with the G.

Go ahead and play. It's the easiest way to learn. Got mine tonight as well. It's working fine and I even made a couple of cuts. Now she's charging so that I will have a full battery for my lunch break at work tomorrow. Enjoy.

Mine froze the first few hours of use. The reset button worked great.

I got my Gypsy tonight. Everything was working fine until I tried to link my Destinations cartridge. The display told me that I needed to go to the web-site and update. I was already registered with cricut.com so I just logged in. HOWEVER, everytime I try to update it says that my Gypsy is not registered. I tried a few times NOW cricut.com won't even let me log on. HELP!

What is the build on your g? Go to the welcome screen on your g, tap the wrench and your build is in the lower left corner.

Thanks! I figured it out. I had to uninstall Gypsy, get a new p/w for cricut.com and start all over! Anyway, it finally worked! Thanks for your reply.
