Not entirely sure that this is the right place to post, but I just wanted to get the word out to everyone so that they will be aware of potential future issues dealing with this site.

Yesterday morning I fiound out that the contest I had entered over at cartridgehelper.com had posted me the winner of their Gyspy giveaway and that I had 7 days to claim my prize. Well DUH! I immediately commented and sent them an email asking them to let me know what I needed to do. I even had people comment congratulating me.

Well last night I got home from a day at work and found that I received an email from them telling me that they sent the email to someone else and had to go with that rather than fulfill the obligation of what they had posted on their blog (and now they've removed my name but don't mention who the supposed new winner is). But that they would give me one cartridge for the mistake.

Am I unreasonable to think that that is unfair and that they should fulfill the obligation of what was posted yesterday morning. Especially since I commented and sent emails in to them in order to claim my prize as required?????

I have since sent three emails to them to rectify the situation and have not yet received a response. If and when I do though I will let you know whether or not they intend to honor their word and/or try to make things right at all.

Thanks for listening, but again I just want everyone to be cautioned.

UPDATE: 10/17 - 10:40pm

I received an email from whomever with the site (they don't provide their name) and while they "apologize" for their mistake they maintain that all they are willing to offer is a brand new cartridge that they are going to buy off Ebay. Why? Because they've "already spent $430" of their "own money". I don't remember HSN selling the Gypsy for that much - I know the retail value of the bundle was around that but they were selling it for less. I know because I was going to buy one but they were sold out when I found out about it.

Again, don't get me wrong - this isn't about greed. And while I appreciate the apology it still doesn't add up to me. Especially since this person is also telling me that they weren't "planning" on "updating" their blog until Monday because of the long hours they work, etc. And yet, the blog has been changed to remove my name but still not providing the name of the alleged winner.

Needless to say, I'm not responding back to this email right away......Stay Tuned....

UPDATE: 10/18 7:51pm CST

I received an email back this evening that said:

Clearly they are not going to honor their word or make it right. So now we'll see if they'll even honor their word of the one cartridge consolation........

Many thanks to all of you who have stood by me and have spoken up on my behalf. That alone has meant more to me than you all know. And perhaps this is the week of "not meant to be" for me.......Why you ask? My sister had offered to enter one of my projects in the county fair yesterday when she entered her items and then today she told me that she forgot to take my stuff....

Oh well, I need to get back to making some cards anyhow.

Did you save the email they sent saying you won? If you did then you have proof and could threaten with small claims court action. I always save emails like that just for the purpose of being able to prove it. Sometimes a threat is all it takes.

So sorry this is happening to you. They should honor what was on there web site. It was there mistake not yours and you did what you were suppose to do. I don't think I am going to do any dealing with them.

I don't get why they sent an email to someone else? Did you respond to them after the 7 days? Or did they contact someone else instead of you on accident so now they are going to give them the G? Either way it's really rude. I would be soo upset.

I would send them a nice email back saying that you have your proof email for when you go to small claims court. They cannot do that to you, it is fraud.

I saw that they posted your name and blog as well in fact I checked your blog out. Love the cards by the way. I don't see how they can post you as a winner and because someone else got an email they are giving it to that person. It almost like saying had I won and responded using my info what my address was that they would send it to me not you. I would fight it tooth and nail not fair at all I wish I had won as well but I think letting people have 9 entries and running the contest for 1 month was part of the issue.

I'm sorry that has happened to you! It sounds like they are trying to get out of fulfilling their offer..it sounds fishy on their part..hmmmm. I would forward them the email you first sent since it would have the date on it and also copy and paste the comment you left on their site..and threaten them with legal action.

as the page looks now - it seems she is saying she won & they didn't tell

I didn't enter that one so no I"m the not the one they are sending it too

I just didn't like the way they fixed the page so it makes her look bad.

please copy the email you got here so they can see it is somewhere they can't touch & PC has a copy

It sounds to me like they didn't have a G to give away to start and that no one gets one and that they always planned on giving away 1 cart.

They will quickly learn that bad publicity goes around the world a lot faster than good and their business will suffer a lot more than the $300 that giving you the Gypsy would have cost.

Sorry that happened to you and I hope they rectify it.

Looks like they removed your name as the winner, but failed to remove all the comments people posted congratulating you! I would think that if they don't make this right for you, it's going to do a lot of harm to them. There are LOTS of members on this mb and the news will spread like wildfire! You should not be penalized if THEY made a mistake. You were obviously the winner. You should not lose out.
