I found this on another splitcoaststampers message board, and it really does work and saves you a ton of money!! Aleene's tack it over and over glue is about $3-$ a bottle and you get get literally thousands of glue dots out of a bottle. You can make your own glue dots by dropping blobs (any size you like) of Aleene's Tack It Over and Over glue onto waxed paper. I did this and folded the excess waxed paper over top, once they were 'dry'. All I have to do is open up the waxed paper, pick off one of the blobs and use like regular store-bought glue dots. They are great and way cheaper! Also the dots can be moved before they 'set' so, if you get a wrong placement, at first, you can pick them off and move them. Bonus! ***I know some of you are not being able to find this glue so if you can't find it and want some let me know and I could get some and ship it to you at actual cost.***

Thanks, Edee. I've tried this trick and it works pretty well. The only think I'd like to add is the Aleene's dries yellow vs. clear for the Glue Dots, so I reserve the glue dots for places/instances where it might be more obvious.

Mine dried clear, I wonder why yours were yellow. That is strange!

Wow! Best tip I have read online in quite some time! Thanks for sharing! Do you know if it is "acid free" so that it won['t eventually yellow the paper?

Yes, it is called "Aleene's Tack it over and over Glue" I looked on the bottle but it doesn't say it is acid free.

Can you guys tell me the purpose of glue dots? I don't use them (yet) and feel I should, but they really are pricey!

Well since I have an ATG gun for most of my paper adhesives, I usually use glue dots for things like sticking down buttons, Primas, skittles, etc. Things that really need extra stick!

I get mine at a LSS or joanns, I don't have a michaels, HL, or anything else like that around here. If you ever need me to pick some up for you, I can find out a price.
