  • Installing Drivers
    • When you install the Cricut Craft Room® design software on Windows® computers, drivers for your Cricut® machine will automatically be installed. Follow the driver installation prompts carefully. 

       If you are not sure that the drivers installed correctly, open the Cricut Craft Room® design software, go to the Help menu, click Install Drivers, and then select the appropriate option. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the drivers. If a Found New Hardware wizard appears, complete the recommended hardware installation.

  • Cricut® machine firmware updates
    • The Cricut Craft Room® design software requires Cricut® machines to have the latest firmware installed or the software may not allow you to cut. If the Cricut Craft Room® design software does not recognize your machine when you click CUT, double check that your Cricut® machine has the latest firmware.

  • How to check your Cricut® machine firmware number
    • Cricut® machine, Cricut Create® machine, and Cricut Expression® machine users: The firmware numbers will appear on the machine’s screen just after powering on the device. If an update is needed, the Cricut Craft Room® design software should automatically prompt you to update your machine and then take you through the update process. 

      Cricut Expression® 2 machine and Cricut Imagine® machine users: The firmware numbers can be found on the machine’s LCD screen in the About menu. These machines update differently than other Cricut® machines. If your machine needs a firmware update, check out the Cricut Sync program at www.cricut.com/cricutsync.

      Cricut Mini® machine users: The Cricut Craft Room® design software will prompt you if an update is available for your machine.

      If you are prompted to update your firmware, please perform the update to ensure you get the best cuts.

  • Log in with no internet connection
    • In order to log in to the Cricut Craft Room® design software, you must have an active high-speed internet connection.

  • Log in error: Invalid Cricut.com login
    • Double check that the spelling of your username (e-mail) and password are correct. Make sure the Caps Lock key is not on and try the Forgot Password? option if necessary.  If you continue to get this error, contact customer support.

    • If you are having trouble installing the Cricut Craft Room® design software on your computer, confirm that your computer and internet connection meet these system requirements.

  • No Usable Devices Are Available when clicking cut
    • No Usable Devices

      If you click CUT and receive the no usable devices are available message, please review these suggestions. If you need additional assistance, please call Cricut® Customer Support.

      1. Is your Cricut® machine fully powered on? Is the USB cable firmly connected to both your Cricut® machine and your computer?

      2. Is your Cricut® machine’s firmware up to date?

      3. Check that the drivers are installed correctly.

      4. Do you hear a chime when you connect the Cricut® machine to the computer? If not, try a different USB port on your computer.

      5. Is the Cricut DesignStudio® software or Cricut® Sync program running at the same time? These programs sometimes interfere with the USB communication, so make sure those programs are closed before opening the Cricut Craft Room® design software.

      6. Do you have more than one Cricut® machine connected to your computer? Try disconnecting any machines not currently in use.

      7. Close and reopen the Cricut Craft Room® design software to refresh your session.

  • What Do the Yellow “No Cut” Icons on the Mat Mean?

    • No Cut

      This icon indicates the cutting boundary on the mat. Any images placed on top of or beyond the yellow border will not be cut. Keep your images inside the yellow borders and on the white grid of the mat.

  • Cannot select image on the mat
    • If you are unable to select an image already on your mat, try these suggestions: 

      1. Check that you a clicking directly on the image.  Try clicking one of the dark outlines (cut paths).

      2. Use the Front and Back button in the Top Tools to adjust the order the images appear on the mat. You may have a larger image in front of the image you are trying to select.

      3. Click just outside the image and drag your mouse to create a blue selection box. Drag your mouse until the box overlaps the image. Release your mouse click and all images touching the blue box should be selected.

  • Lost USB Cable
    • Should you need to replace your USB cord, you can purchase one at most electronics stores or on Cricut.com.

  • Bridge Error while using the Cricut Craft Room® Design Software
    • The Cricut Craft Room® design software uses a bridge to communicate between your computer, the internet, and your Cricut® machine.  If this communication gets interrupted in an unexpected way, you may receive a bridge error that requires the Cricut Craft Room® design software to close. Often, restarting the Cricut Craft Room® design software will refresh your session and resolve the issue. 

      If you continue to receive bridge errors, please check that your firewall and antivirus programs are allowing the Cricut Craft Room® design software to run properly. Add both Cricut-Craft Room.exe and CCRBRidge.exe to your antivirus and firewall’s trusted programs list.  If you need help doing this, please contact Cricut® Support or your antivirus and firewall providers. 

  • I am receiving errors when installing the Cricut Craft Room® design software.
    • If you receive an error during the installation process, please try these steps:

      1. Remove any previous version of Cricut Craft Room from your computer.

      Windows® - Uninstall both Cricut Craft Room and Adobe® Air® using the Control Panel. After the uninstall wizard completes, check the Program Files on your computer's C drive. If a folder named Cricut-Craft Room appears, delete it.

      Mac® - Drag the Cricut Craft Room icon and Adobe Air icon from Applications to the trash bin.

      2. Make sure you are logged in to your computer as an Administrator.

      3. Reinstall Cricut Craft Room from www.cricut.com/craftroom.

      4. If your antivirus, firewall, or other security program asks you to allow Cricut Craft Room or the CCRbridge to run, select Allow.
