Q:Just got a Cricut Expression^® 2 machine and I've been super excited to use it. I bought the Cricut Craft Room? Exclusives 3D Pinwheels digital images thinking I would make a bunch of pinwheels to decorate and give out at my daughter's first birthday party.

However, the 3D Pinwheels digital images don't come with any instructions on how to put them together. The accents that are shown on the center don't have holes to put a brad through. I don't understand.

Also, is there any way to make them as working/spinning pinwheels and not just decorative?

A:Take a look at the digital handbook for this cartridge.

There is a circle base with the hole for the brad. You cut the circle with the icon separately. The second circle layers over the base so the holes show through.

CARTRIDGE EXPLORATION

I have been in wedding mode for the last few weeks and discovered a new Cricut^® Events cartridge that?s exactly what I needed. The Tablescapes ? Spring & Summer cartridge came out last week, and it is full of tons of 3D projects that are perfect for weddings, parties, and other occasions. I like this cartridge so much I think I will have to revamp my plans for the two weddings that I?m helping out with.

The Tablescapes - Spring & Summer cartridge lets you create just the right touch for any party. Cut out butterflies, rabbits, an umbrella, a dragonfly, a flower, a bumblebee, a bird, or a star to fit nametags, glasses, table centerpieces, napkin rings holders, and 3D thank you boxes. You also get a generic rosette that you can add coordinating centers to. For example, you can use a flower, rabbit, or butterfly for the center of the rosette. Cut out a bunch of these images and string them together to make a banner?it would be so cute! I think it would be fun to cut the cupcake wrapper, place it upside down on a wine glass, and place a fake tea light lamp in the glass. Then you could cut one of the shapes, write a name or table number on it, and place that on the edge of the glass. The Tablescapes ? Spring & Summer cartridge comes with shapes for you to make 3D butterflies or bumblebees. I decided to use the 3D butterfly as my nameplate and one of the boxes as for a thank you gift box.

These images on the Tablescapes ? Spring & Summer cartridge would also be great for mobiles. The butterflies or dragonfly would be especially adorable in a mobile. Use this idea to decorate a child?s bedroom or add some color to the playroom. Don?t forget to check the handbook for instructions on how to assemble the images!
