CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT

Name: Barbara Short
About: I am a grandmother of three wonderful girls! I started scrapbooking pictures of them when I received a Cricut last year for Christmas. Visiting the messageboard inspired me to create other items with my Cricut. I enjoy making layouts, cards, etching glass blocks, and now working with vinyl.

Barbara's Project: Christmas Window Pane

Cartridges Used:
- A Child's Year
- Paper Doll Dress Up
- Jolly Holidays

Instructions: My neighbor gave me this window pane to decorate with vinyl. I used Paper Doll Dress Up for the 6" Santa and sleigh. The reindeer, houses and trees are from my new cartridge, Jolly Holidays! The snowflakes, girl, and snowman are from A Child's Year. The snow below the houses were simply scraps of vinyl.

I made sample cuts for sizing before I cut my vinyl and am saving the sample cuts for future size reference. I am pleased with the finished project! Thank you to everyone on the Cricut.com messageboard for ideas and inspiration!

YOUR NOTABLE TIP

Your Notable Tipspacer

Today's tip comes from message board member TerriScrapsnCali!

"The poinsettia is based on a card I saw. It's not the same technique, since I didn't have the punch they used. I cut diamonds in vellum then cut the same diamonds using the silhouette in red cardstock. The first two cards have eight petals each and I used a gold brad. The third card I used two different sized petals." Click here to see Terri's cards!

CARTRIDGE EXPLORATION

I just finished wrapping my last gift! I love wrapping presents, and I can't wait till my dogs open their gifts. They love tearing up the paper on the gift more than the actual present, but I love to buy them clothes. I hope all of you got your gifts wrapped and ready for the big day. In today's exploration I will delve into Jolly Holidays, Sesame Street® Seasons, Inspired Heart cartridges.

Cartridge Exploration Featured ProjectspacerInspired Heart is a Lite cartridge that is all about religion. Images on this cartridge include: dreidel, Torah, menorah, Star of David, crown, blessing, Temple, church, Mary, minister, Pope, Islam, tablets, wiseman, Christ, nativity, palm, angel, oil lamp, preach, star, baptism, and cross. Phrases is the creative feature on this cartridge. Some examples are: "Hope," "Love," "Church," "Humble," "Grace," "Savior," "Mission," "He is Risen," "Patience," "Merciful," "Charity," "Trinity," and more. I can think of so many projects these images could be used in, from church functions, to scrapbook pages, signs, and special activities. I really love the "Wiseman" and "Nativity" images; they would be great on a quick card. Stephanie Cricutmini from the messageboard created this adorable Christmas card (see pic or click here).

Cartridge Exploration Featured ProjectspacerJolly Holidays is another Christmas cartridge, and the artwork is completely different then the style of Inspired Heart. The creative feature for this cartridge is Layer, so there are layers to each of the fun images on this cartridge. You receive fifty themed images that include Santa, elves doing a variety of things, a snowman, a gingerbread man, Christmas presents, ornaments, a fox, and a penguin. There are also stockings, gloves, wreath, trees, a bird house, a Christmas tag, a banner, five villages, and "Winter Wishes" and "Happy Holidays" word art. It's too late to make Christmas cards, but you could use this cartridge to cut out images for your scrapbook pages. Justme from the messageboard created this Christmas layout using the Jolly Holidays cartridge (see pic or click here).

Cartridge Exploration Featured ProjectspacerSesame Street® Seasons is full of those fun characters from Sesame Street. Every time I see this cartridge, I think of my favorite character (which is Cookie Monster). The creative features on cartridge are Layer 1, Layer 2, Word, Prop, Prop Layer, and Shadow. Some of the characters that turn up are: Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, Bert and Ernie, plus a few others. Each character is doing fun summer, spring, autumn, or winter activities. For example, Cookie Monster is in a water inner tube, Elmo is flying a kite, and Ernie is wrapped up in gloves, scarf, and boots getting ready to play in the snow. Prop images include: flowers, seashells, trees, a sandcastle, snowmen, snowflakes, numbers 1 through 0, a pumpkin, bugs, and a kite. A few examples of the word art on this cartridge are: "Flower," "Sunglasses," "Bird," "Snowball," "Hot," "Spring," "Cold," "Read," and "Rain." When you use the Shift button and the Prop creative feature, you can cut all of the words above, but in Spanish. This cartridge also has a 3-D box. HappyHappyJoyJoy created the most adorable Christmas Box! She use said 3-D box and then add her own person touches. If I got this box for Christmas, I would have to save the box and use it in my crafty room somewhere--it's so cute (see pic or click here)!

Well, that wraps up this exploration. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas weekend. Happy Crafting!

HELP FROM THE EXPERTS

Q. I'm traveling and would like to take my Cricut with me. I understand I'll need to purchase a power adapter. What is the voltage of the Cricut power adapter?

A. The voltage on the power adapter is 100 - 240V. But I do want to take this opportunity to inform you that all warranties on the Cricut machines only apply in the country or region in which you purchased the machine. If you purchased the machine here in the United States, the machine would need to be returned to the U.S. in order for us to assist you with any warranty processes. It is also very important for you to have your original receipt as proof of purchase in the event that you need to take advantage of your warranty. Please be sure to file it in a safe location.
