Cricut App Change Log Version 1.3 Build 0191 – May 28, 2010

New Features:

  • Added the ability to hide-contours enabling users even greater ability to customize and create new designs. Hide any part of an existing shape to make it your own custom shape. Hidden contours will save when you save your design.
  • Added rulers to the mat screen so users can more readily see the actual size that shapes will cut.
  • The feature keys now show descriptive text and icons to help users make better use of their cartridges without the use of the printed manual.
  • The Photo App is now available for all users.
  • The Gypsy can now be restored in the home of a user in case the user is having trouble with their Gypsy
  • The Gypsy now displays “Busy Syncing…” while connected to GypsySync through your computer to inform users that it is not available for use while it is Syncing.
  • Cartridges can now be added to the Gypsy faster and more reliably than before.

Enhancements:

Fixes:

  • Files with commas in the file name can now be transferred to and from the Gypsy.
  • Error message for files that contain characters that are not allowed has been improved. If a file contains a character in the file name that is not allowed, the files that have acceptable file names will display in Gypsy Sync and an error message will be show to explain why some files do not display.
  • More descriptive error messages have been added for some internet and web server related errors.
  • A trace log called GypsyTrace.log is now generated in the c:/ directory. This log will be generated for all internet related errors. This log will be used by customer service and engineering to troubleshoot any further problems that may arise.

Cricut App Version 1.2 Build 0142: 11/04/2009

Added Features:

  • You can now share files between Cricut® DesignStudio and the Cricut App on your Gypsy™.
  • The Cricut App now supports multi-page design.
  • By holding down the Zoom button and selecting an image on the keypad, Gypsy will now display a full screen preview of the image so that you can see the details of the image without having to go to the mat screen.
  • The name of the cartridge displayed on the keypad window now shows in non-bolded red text if you do not own the cartridge. If you own the cartridge it shows in bolded dark green.
  • On the keypad screen, if you tap and hold an image in the image queue, the cartridge name to which that image belongs will be displayed. Clicking the cartridge name switches the keypad to that cartridge.


Enhancements:

  • Welding preview is now faster and shows a progress bar.
  • Welding preview no longer has to be redrawn when you zoom in or out (you can now enter preview mode and zoom without having to wait each time you zoom).
  • Dragging large groups on your mat is now faster.
  • Load and Unload button on the cutting menu is now smart. If you have a mat loaded in the Cricut machine the Cricut App will only display the "Unload Mat" button. If you do not have a mat loaded it will only display the "Load Mat" button.
  • Updated keyword database.
  • Updated the warranty to expand the warranty coverage form 6 months to 12 months (please read the warranty for details).
  • New firmware for the Cricut machine that enables some of the features above and improves the reliability of cutting.
  • You can now use the zoom and pan buttons to scroll up and down through your file lists when opening and deleting files.


Fixes

  • Reported welding issues have been fixed.
  • Selection boxes that appear around images and groups have been improved so that the show correctly even when they spill over the edge of the mat. The boxes display while they are being dragged. They do not show when at rest.
  • The Cricut machine remembers if you are in mm or inches after you shutdown and then restart.
  • Designs that contain templates, where the template contains images you don’t have the rights to cut, can now be cut*.
  • *Note: Previous to this Circuit App release, if you attempted to cut a design based on a template containing an image you don’t have the rights to cut (even though the template does not cut) the entire design would not cut.


Gypsy Sync Software (MAC/WIN): 11/04/2009

Added Features:

  • Add the ability to transfer files to and from your Gypsy. Files that can be transferred are *.gypsy files.


Know Issues:

Skewing/Slanting
We are aware of an issue with Skewing/Slanting. This capability does not function properly when transferring files from Cricut DesignStudio and Gypsy. Files that have Skewing/Slanting in them may not have the same Skewing/Slanting or in some cases the Skewing/Slanting is completely removed. This only happens when transferring files. You can transfer files and then add Skewing/Slanting. This is known issue that we are still working to resolve. Images that have skewing/slanting that are transferred might not cut properly until this issue is resolved.

Multi-page Files
Transferring designs with multiple pages from Cricut DesignStudio to Gypsy is available. You will also be able to create new multi-page designs on your Gypsy and cut them on your Gypsy. When transferring any multi-page design from Gypsy to Cricut DesignStudio the pages will all be combined into one page. This includes designs that were created in Cricut DesignStudio, transferred to Gypsy and then transferred back to Cricut DesignStudio. We recommend that you keep a copy of the original Cricut DesignStudio files when transferring them to the Gypsy and vice versa.

Gypsy Synch (Mac)
The installer does not automatically close the old version when installing the new version. You must close the old version when installing the new version.

Gypsy Synch (Windows)
The file list does not automatically refresh. You must refresh in order to see the updated file list.

Gypsy Help
The help files have not been updated since the previous version.

Cricut Firmware Upgrades
When Gypsy recognizes that the Cricut firmware needs to be upgraded the Gypsy will not tell you this until you hit the exit button. You can upgrade your Cricut firmware manually by pressing the menu button and selecting Upgrade Cricut.

Cricut App Version 1.1 Build 0109 10/02/2009

Fixes:

  • Issues with using Gypsy to update a Cricut from 1.0 or 2.0 to the current version of the firmware are resolved.


Cricut App Version 1.1 Build 0105 09/25/2009

Added Features:

Duplicate (copy and paste) Button –duplicates current selection. This function is found on the advanced menu tab of the Cricut App. To use the Duplicate button, select an image or a group of images and click the Duplicate button. A duplicate of whatever is selected will automatically be added to your design. You can always push the menu button (the silver round button on the Gypsy) at any time and select help to find instructions on how to use any of the features of your Gypsy.

Selection Boxes – when selecting an image on the mat a box will now appear around the selection. This makes it easier to see exactly what is selected. This also helps showcase how True/Relative Size works. Experiment with this new feature by going to the Gypsy Font cartridge and select the lowercase “y.” On the mat screen look at how the selection box changes depending on whether you are in relative size or true size mode. Remember that when you change the width and height you are changing the width and the height of the box, not the image. Be sure that you have selected the “y” or the selection boxes will not be displayed.

When you finish cutting you now have three different options:

  1. Unload the mat and return to your design.
  2. Keep the mat in the Cricut and add to the design.
  3. Keep the mat in the Cricut and return to your design.
For more information on each of these features push the round silver menu button while on the cut menu and click the help icon.

Enhancements:

  • Search results allow you to see all the results on a single screen and select images to be added to your design.
  • When zoomed in on a design you can pan around the mat without using the pan button (bottom half of the moon shaped silver button to the side of the Gypsy screen).
  • Improved loading and unloading of mats on all versions of the Cricut.
  • Once your Cricut has been updated to 1.32, 1.52, or 2.32 your Gypsy will be able to better upgrade your Cricut in the future.
  • Updated help screens.


Fixes:

  • Issues with cartridge linking addressed.
  • Issues caused by unplugging the USB cable in the middle of cutting have been addressed.
  • Issues caused by pushing the STOP button on the Cricut while cutting have been addressed.
  • Incorrect display of the rotation when in “mm” instead of “inches” has been corrected.
  • Not being able to resize and image to the maximum size of the mat has been fixed.
  • Images can no longer be moved off the mat (causing them to become unselectable).
  • Exploding a group with spaces now deletes the spaces.
