Compete in the Gypsy 24-hour Design Challenge! The project with the most votes wins and will be announces on October 30th on the message boards and in person at the Grand Opening of Michael’s new Manhatten Store. You will only be allowed to vote 1 time. Inspiration: Alot of people use crafting to create their wedding invitations, placecards or favors but the possibilities for centerpieces are endless as well! Instructions: To create layered flowers, choose a flower shape and cut out the desired number of layers in 1/4" differences from one another. Layer with dimensional adhesives and embellish centers. Attach flowers to any type of floral wire and arrange in vase filled with rocks or jewels. For paper roses, choose a flower cut and cut 3 or 4 layers in 1/4" differences from one another. Create cone-like shape for bottom layer by cutting a slit halfway down the center, overlapping & adhering two petals and curling ends out with a pencil. For each additional layer, make a tighter cone by cutting out one or two petals (depending on desired size) and repeating overlap and curl. Accent center with jewel or embellishment. Create names or words using the weld feature on your Gypsy and place in arrangement. Shapes such as birds and butterflies are a nice addition to the arrangement. Leaves or flourishes can be cut and placed in and among the floral wires to fill in gaps and create a fuller look. Flowers can be double sided to look good from all angles. Paper flower arrangements are SO versatile and SO much fun to create!! They make great gifts, decor or in this case, budget friendly wedding centerpieces!
