HI- Thanks to all of you who responded about Megan, my now almost 18 year old daughter, Megan. She has cerebral palsy, is in a wheelchair and too much else to mention. However, thanks to technology and her cricut machines, she keeps so busy. She still makes posters for charities, cards for all of her classmates, and Megan was even honored during the Yankees HOPE week this year. She now has casts on 4 fingers of her right hand and has to wear a brace. Her hands are getting worse and worse and this serial casting techniques is helping to stretch her hands for better use. She has NOT stopped with the Cricuting- even with the casts. This kid does not give up. Music playing, names of her classmates who are having birthdays soon, lots of paper and cartridges everywhere- and the constant hum of the cricut machine. She made cards for the soldiers to mail with the supplies they need and loves to visit Michaels to get her supplies. She drives that motorized wheelchair like she is on a mission to use her coupons to get home and make more cards. Just wanted to let all of you know, your posts and creative ideas are appreciated- and sometimes inspire Megan, who gets it all done with a smile. If you are curious, check out the site below this post- I put her creations on her "website". Keep crafting and smiling- it is contagious! thanks for the inspiration, Linda

Linda and Megan,
I just looked at your site and Megan your cards are great! You sure have been busy! I have tried making a few cards and they weren't as nice as yours.
I mostly make posters for an elementary school I volunteer at.
I have a DS that is 16 and Developmentally Delayed. He loves pressing the buttons that make the mat go in and out of my Cricut Expression. He also helps me pick out what to make. He loves the Cars cartridge and Mickey and Friends cartridge.
Keep crafting! Your work is great!
Kathy

hi- thank you for your kind responses. Please pray for some of my special education "students" that I volunteer for. I teach them the cricut and we even have attempted Cricut Craft room. We have only 39 kids in Megan's special needs high school and two are very sick. One is awaiting a very serious surgery and one is still in hospital recuperating. We are putting aside our other projects to make cricut cards for them. today one child suggested we put a dog on the card since the child in hospital must miss his dog. I love these special kids and see so much compassion in them. They make cards with their friends in mind- the favorite colors, sayings, etc. The school is Bishop Ahern High School in Staten Island- part of the Seton Foundation for Learning. It may take us a LONG time to do a project, but they are done with love!
