I did the upgrade, I see on the Gypsy that the carts that are on the E2 are red,
when I put all my other carts on it they show up black, can I cut with the Gypsy with the carts red like that.

No you can't use the G to cut with the carts that came pre-loaded on the E2 ...It's been said that they're working on an update to solve the problem ...Right now the only way you can cut with those carts are straight from the E2 without using the G .......

i had some ideas for the carts esp. the cricut decals and had to do it another way. at first when i called they said i could use any gypsy and when it hooked to the e2 it would tell it that it could cut. nope! lol called back and they said they are trying to work that out and will fix it with a future update but, no eta
