Well, the taxes are finally done...those Connecticut taxes were a stinker! Terry kept telling me to just put in zeroes where I didn't know the answer, but I was stubborn and kept trying to look up what the gobbledy-talk meant. It was very frustrating. Then, I was led to believe I could e-file for her. But, of course, I couldn't. So, I have to mail it. Everything else can be e-filed! Terry and I have a federal return and a CA return. Kat has a federal return and a CT return. Then, we are done!
Did I tell you this is a PITA. Why, oh why, do I always wait so long? Don't answer that...it's call procrastination and I said I would stop this year. But, in this area, I didn't.
OK...enough smacking me on the hand!
Nothing new! Rhonda, you worked hard on the stuff for your sale! I hope when you do have it, you gets lots of traffic and make lots of sales. Are you selling big items (furniture) as well as the smaller glass items? Just wondering...
I would like to get our garage cleaned out again. It's gotten to be a mess, but I'm not sure when I might have time to do that. It would have to be a weekend when I have nothing planned and I don't see that happening for awhile.
OK...I'm going to go and finish all this up and work on some lessons before hitting the sack. Although since I slept a good bit of the day, I don't expect to go to bed really early!
By the way, did any of you see that picture on FB of Sara's little Gracie conked out at the dinner table? Really sweet!

one last stop before I head to bed.
Lizzy, I did see the picture of Gracie on FB. Hard to believe she will be 3 soon. Remember when we were all waiting for her to arrive?
While I was sitting back this evening with my tea, I was thinking about all I have to do this week. I was wishing I had started the pricing sooner, but then I did realize I do have 2 weeks still. So I am going to concentrate on the menu for Easter and get everything ready for that. Almost everything can be made ahead that is what I am going to do.
The gazebo cover is on and now we can get the bike out to the deck YEA!!!!! and also put the furniture on it. I didn't get the hummer feeders hung, but will try to do that tomorrow.
Still working on the butterflies for my cards.
Lizzy, my dream is to get our garage cleaned out. Now that we have the shed, my plan was as soon as the weather got nice, we could start moving stuff from the garage out to it. Mainly all the yard stuff and garden things. It will happen. Like you, I just need a nice weekend with nothing else happening.
Jim told me last week that his annual CA business trip is on, so I am looking at plane tickets. I want to get mine before prices go up to much. We also have a NC trip in June to get planned.
ok...I am off to bed. I am like Miss Gracie and about to nod off at the desk.

good morning.. I have a busy morning, but hopefully when I get through running errands, I can spend some time getting the house in order for next weekend. I am going to try to get as much food prep done in advance. I have to go to the grocery store first though.
Lizzy, I meant to comment last night about how nice it is to have Kelly as a positive influence/support for your weight loss. Jim & I work together, but he is not the always the most supportive. I have to be the more persistent one about exercise and food.
Well, I am going to tackle the butterfly cuts again today and hopefully get that off my plate. Rhonda, last night I played with the folds on the card and I think I have that part figured out.
well, have a great day everyone.

good morning all... Lizzy, glad you were finally able to put those taxes to bed. Completing them can be quite frustrating! Hope you have a great week at school. I know you are looking forward to seeing Kat! Pat, I know you are glad to get the gazebo set up so you can start your bike rides outside! I re-filled the hummer feeder yesterday. Haven't seen any yet, but keeping my eyes pealed! I can't wait for their return. But with all the winds we have been having, they may keep getting blown off course Lizzy, yes, I have quite a few large items as well. Lots of sheving units, wooden bar stools, tables, chairs, etc. I just want to get rid of it all and have an empty garage! Although I don't know what I will do with it when it is empty! Not sure what is planned for this week, but my goal is to go for a walk every night after work!!!!! Hope the weather cooperates. Better finish getting ready to head out the door. Have a great day!

Good morning! Lizzy that is great you got those taxes done! I didn't even realize that they were due! Pat are you doing Easter dinner at your house? How awesome your deck is almost ready for spending time out there. Being to ride outside again will be nice too. Rhonda that is great about getting most of your things priced! I am sure that is a good thing to get off your list! I hope the weather cooperates for you too! Paula how was the play? What do you have planned today? You just popped in...crazy weather for you too. We had that Saturday and more coming Wednesday. We actually had about an inch and a half of snow when we woke up on Saturday and we have a winter weather watch for Tuesday and we are supposed to have 2-4 inches by Wednesday morning! We celebrated Easter yesterday with my in laws because my SIL has to work next weekend. We will just celebrate Easter here. THat will be a first here. We have always gone somewhere. It has always been church then off to someones house. Maybe we will do Saturday night service and then stay home Sunday. We'll see how we feel this weekend. I already have the project planned today so I just need to plan lunch....hmmm what to do. Well I guess I better get moving. I have to get breakfast ready.

good morning again... I am off to a good start this morning. I have been to the PO and one bank. The other I will go later as I need to go inside. I thought I could take care of it online, but it is a loan payoff and I have to do it in person. It is not a huge deal running back over there later. I have laundry going and I need to make a couple phone calls. Can't do those until after 10am.
Nancy, we are doing Easter dinner here. We are watching the weather though, since we want to utilize outside. We might get together Saturday or it might be Sunday. It is so much better if we can have the kids outside. Especially with the inside in such disorder.
eeeeeuuuu on all the snow. This has been a looooong winter for some.
this was my list for last week and as you can see I only managed about half. So I am leaving it as my list for this week as well. Tomorrow I should be able to finish up the cards while at my friend's and I will also work on the calendar. I am also adding sorting the CFS and getting those boxes started.
* This week I need to attack the scrapbook supplies that I am hoping to sell at the SB flea market. started * I also have 2 Birthday cards to plan and create ready to assemble * And the long standing Heritage Perpetual Calendar. * For exercise I am going to work on my poor yard did a fair amount
* sort/pack CFS
Rhonda, the hummer feeders will go up today. Jim's cousin in NC said she has them down there already. She also has yellow finches and bluebirds. I don't see bluebirds up here, but I do get the finches.

Pat I agree being able to have the kids outside. They run off there energy there instead of in the house. We had kids running back and forth inside yesterday. We did go outside for the egg hunt, but that was not enough for the little ones. WTG on getting so much done this AM. Did you get the rest of it done? I guess I should post my list from last week too. Not so great here. ~make a birthday card ~get to my yard work Maybe by Wednesday since it will be down to 40* by Friday and rain chances as well. started~not sure what will get done with the snow this week but I have to try since we need to have the stuff on the curb by Monday of next week. ~start planning Mother's day cards. I made deviled eggs and egg salad with the eggs from the egg hunt yesterday. We will have that for dinner tonight as well as the leftover ham. I will throw a lettuce salad and a fruit with it and we will be good to go.

Ok all, here is the results from my last list: My list for this week: 1. Yard work 2. Finish at least one layout 3. Start pricing for garage sale in May 2 out of 3 - not too bad. I came home from work and went to a good walk right away. Then read the paper and had a bite to eat. Now to decide what I want to do for the rest of the evening. I am trying to decide if I want to make Easter cards or not. Better make up my mind quickly. Not sure what the plans are for the weekend. Ok, off to see what I will do tonight!

good evening. This became a totally messed up day and now I am trying to get my self on track for tomorrow. We even ended up just going out to get a quick dinner.
Rhonda, I would say 2 out of 3 is not bad, considering the amount of time you spent on the pricing.
I am not sure I am going to be able to get the stair step cards finished tomorrow. Mainly because I am not sure of what I want to dress them up with. I do have some flowers and fancy brads that might work. They might have to be finished off tomorrow night though. Anyway, I am going to take those and my heritage calendar to work on along with some other partially done projects. We will see how I do. I need to stop overloading myself with to do items. I think it would be nice to just kick back and enjoy each day and not be worrying about it.

Hi everyone! I caught up yesterday in here and I thought I posted but I don't see it.
It's late and I have to go to bed but I just wanted to tell you all that my dream job is available, right down the road from me. It's called Eat Dessert First. they are a wholesale baker and they are looking for a cake decorator and general help. they make those fancy cakes you find in restaurants (with the big slices). I have always wanted to work in a bakery. I'm leaving early from work at 2:30 to go drop off my app, resume and talk with the owner. I'm so excited!
Nite!

GOod morning! Pat sorry your day didn't go as planned. I always wonder how you do it keeping yourself so busy. I think I would spend a lot more time doing nothing. Of course I suppose that is because I really don't get much time to just relax and do nothing! RHonda good for you getting your walk in right away!! Did you get the Easter cards done? Laurie working in a bakery? I would have no willpower and be overweight! Good luck! Paula how much snow did you end up getting yesterday? Well it is raining here now and then will turn over to snow this afternoon. Initially they said 2-4 inches, now they day it could be 2-9 inches. I do hope we don't get that much here. I guess I better go get my coffee and see how the boys are doing.

Good morning all....
Laurie, good luck on the "dream job" And it is so much closer to your home. But my diet wouldn't really do too well at a job like that.
Just when I wanted some rain to water in the weed/feed, they now have taken it out of the forecast. Looks like I will have to water it all in! Guess I'd better get the seeds planted while I can!
Sorry about all the snow some of you have been having. Hope this is winter's last fling!
What is everyone up to today?

LOL Rhonda! You are right I am sure the Easter Bunny won't want to hop through all that snow. The city already rescheduled the Easter Egg hunt that they do every year from last week (because of the snow) to this weekend. If we get a lot of snow they will still have the snow to contend with if it doesn't get warm enough to melt, especially if we get closer to the 9 inches. I don't ever remember a snow storm this late in April. I am sure there has been one, just not for a very long time.

good morning.. oh my Nancy 2-9 inches of snow!!!! I hope you are on the 2" end. This has been a weird winter for sure. Even kids are saying enough is enough. And Rhonda... all the rain you've had and when you need it ... NONE. Tomorrow is our nicest day for the week, so Jim is taking off to get the furniture out of the shed and up onto the deck. This is a 2 person job, since the deck is on our middle level and the stairs turn. I can get the cushions by my self, but not the furniture frames. He is also going to cut up the thicker branches that fell in the yard, so they can be put out next Monday for p/u. If we have time, I hope to make a run to Costco and the grocery.
Laurie, I wish you good luck on the bakery job. What kind of work would you be doing?

Hello ladies! Monster house today. Ds woke with a migraine and today my cleaners came. Busy day! DS and I watched a show then we had DH pick up Chinese for dinner. It will be an early night to bed. Nancy, we only ended up with about an inch and a half I think. I sure hope you don't get as much as they are thinking. We have some kind of weather advisory right now with strong thunderstorms and hail. It has been raining all day. Pat you have sure been busy!! You keep knocking things off your list. Rhonda, good for you getting out for your walk! Does your puppy go with you? Sorry you didn't get the rain you were hoping for. Isn't that just the way it goes?? Laurie, I would think the stress level of that job should be pretty low. And think of the money you could save on gas!! Tomorrow I have a free day...Yippee!!

Hello all...
Paula, you did have a busy day! I'll bet you are looking forward to an easy day tomorrow. No, Bart does not walk with me. He has back trouble and joint trouble so walking very far and very fast isn't his thing! I would have to carry him most of the way!
So far no rain here today. Now they are saying possibly Thursday. But at least there is no snow like some of you are having.
Pat, hope you and Jim can get your patio furniture safely up to the deck tomorrow.

good evening all... well today was a bit of a bust. I got very little done at my friends other than working on the card bases for the stair step cards. I may have to revisit what I take to work on at these get togethers. Like maybe just working on the mass produced CFS. I prefer to not have to haul a lot of things that I may or may not need, but with a little prepwork, I can knock out 100+ cards in 5 hrs and only have to take a small tote.
Jim is working from home tomorrow, so the plan is to get the furniture up on the deck and then put all the boxes of scrapbooking stuff in the shed. I will resume pricing next Monday. For this week, I need the space in the house and we will hope for nice outdoor weather for the weekend.
I also need to go to the grocery and I would like to go to Costco. Should be able to do that with no problem.
I might call it an early night so I am ready to get moving early tomorrow. I might also play with the cards a little and see if I can come up with embellishments that work for me.

Hi friends....today and yesterday have been very rough days for me. I bit the bullet yesterday morning and called my dad's house. I knew there would be a good chance my sister would answer and I was determined that no matter what, it would be a civil conversation. Sure enough, she answered and I kept the conversation very civil. It turns out that my father is getting worse very rapidly and since there is no live-in hospice facility in their town, the next step for him is to go to a nursing home. So my sister is going to have to investigate those facilities and find one for him. I sympathized with her, I made sad sounds with her, I even told her I wished I was there to help her. However, truthfully, I am relieved that I have to work and cannot drop everything to go there right now.
I feel pretty strongly about getting there and taking my mom over to see my dad before he passes away. I know my sister won't do that and I feel that this should be done. I spoke with my brother today and he agrees with me. So now we are working on both of us going in the weekend after this coming one and doing that. We've split up the preliminary tasks to make sure it can happen. I think my sister will go ballistic when she finds out we want to do that, but I'm going to leave all that up to my brother to deal with.
The only sanity I feel like I have these days is at work. Fortunately, my students are so good these days, it's a blessing to be there and be distracted! I will honestly be so relieved when this saga of my parents ends. After my dad passes away, the next task will be trying to convince my sister to allow my brother or I to move my mom to a new location closer to one of us. She will fight us on that one, too.
Oh well, one thing at a time.
Thanks for listening.
As for everyone else, Pat, I'm so glad you got the cover on the deck and now can get the furniture on it. You should have a nice time this upcoming weekend with the family, too. I hope the weather holds so the kidlets can all play outdoors.
And what is up with the weather up north? SNOW? Mother Nature is playing tricks on you! So very sorry! The Easter Bunny is not going to be very happy this year at all!

good morning .... I have been up for a while trying to get some things done. I love the quiet when it is still dark. Of course Jim is home, so it is not totally peaceful. I am looking forward to getting the furniture on the deck and then having weather that allows us to enjoy it. We have off and on showers in the 5 day forecast. Today however we are going to be in the mid 80's and this afternoon/evening there is a chance of t'storms.
Lizzy, I am glad to read that your students so far have not been a problem. Definitely makes the work day more pleasant. And hopefully with your brother's support you can deal with the situation with your parents.
I am hoping I can come up with plans for getting scrapbooking and papercrating done in a more productive manner. I was thinking that having my supplies organized is the key and so I have got to make that a priority. Until then I need to work on simple things at crops and even here at home. As I have been going through things to get rid of, I realized that I got carried away with wanting to try everything and buying all the stuff that went with it. Of course being a vendor didn't help. Hoping I can rectify that problem.
Yesterday, my friend was looking at the cards I was working on and told me I should teach that class at her crops. So, I am going to give it some thought and figure out a way I can utilize things I have such as paper and embellishments. She would really like me to be a vendor at her crops, but she knows I would rather be a cropper. But teaching a class wouldn't be a big deal if I had the kits all made up. Definitely going to give it some thought. And it would only be an hour of my cropping time.
Time to move on to my next agenda item this morning. It is a long list.

Good morning ladies.
Lizzy, sorry to hear about your Father's declining health. I am glad that you and your brother can be a united front, that should help you go forward with the things that you need to do. Life is certainly a series of situations we have to find our way through isn't it? I am glad your class is going well and you have that to occupy your time/mind with.
Pat, if you do the class does she let you crop for free? That may be worth the hour (well, and the prep time) I agree with you about being organized. I have a long way to go but I am already finding it is easier to pick up and scrap in my area. I can find things pretty well too. (OK, because I have moved things around sometimes I reach for things in the old places) But overall it is helping.

Good morning.... Lizzy, I can sure understand your frustration with the situation with your parents. I am so glad your brother is willing to go with you when you take your mother to visit your father. I think that is something that must be done! How sad that your sister is creating such havoc at this time and not being there for both parents. Hope something can be worked out for all involved. Pat, sorry you were not as productive as you would have liked to be yesterday. I am never as productive as I would like to be. I really need to be more organized. Hope you and Jim can get everthing done on your lists today without too much noise I am envious of your temps today. We barely made 50 yesterday. It should be a bit warmer today, so keeping my fingers crossed. Paula, I have not heard of a stroller for a dog. I'm not sure Bart would appreciate that, he would be very nervous. But it would be nice to have him along sometimes. But the road along the front of my house is not real good so it would be a very bumpy ride! How much snow have you gotten so far. The weather reports have been crazy with all the storms and snow etc. Spring....where are you! Enjoy your free day! Nancy, did you do an Easter project with the kiddos? I am meeting a friend after work for a bite to eat. Her DH has to be out of town so it is girls night for us.

Here you go Rhonda: http://www.discountramps...-WmMSjq6gCFQzNKgod5B4liAEnjoy your time with your friend after work. Nancy, that is great!! I had a laugh out of it! I just made another appt. with my chiropractor. I went Monday but woke up with a pain in my neck yesterday and a headache which I still have. I also have a piece of material I need to wash and drop off at a print shop. I am having them put a pic of DS with the band at a football game on it. This will be the last square we need for his quilt. Then we need to decide the order of the squares and my sister will sew them together.

good afternoon... Nancy that was too funny. I am going to have to share it with my CFS ladies in WI and upstate NY.
Today has been a mediocre day for getting things done, but we did get the furniture onto the deck and some errands ran. We could have done much more out in the yard I think, but there were inside things that needed to be taken care of. I think we will deal with the bike another day.
I do need to put some things into the shed, so will try to do that before the rain comes.
Paula, teaching a class and cropping have nothing to do with each other, so I will have to pay the crop fee. Fees for the class are all mine. I often teach classes at her crops. It's also a 12 hr crop so an hour isn't a big deal. Sorry about the pain and headache. I hope you can get some relief. I've never been to a chiropractor.
It is a really nice day out.. I sure wish it would stay that way.

Hi friends,
Well, today was another pretty good day! I spoke with the memory care unit administrator today and ended up with a totally different outlook about taking my mom to visit my dad. She gave me some good things to think about and now I'm rethinking it altogether. She said that my mom has not spoken about my dad at all since she fell and broke her pelvis even though she has talked about us kids. She isn't certain that taking her to visit my dad would be a particularly good thing overall. She says that often it is terribly upsetting to the person with dementia and leaves them very upset and reliving that moment of dreadful reality (i.e. the loved one's imminent death) over and over again. It's as if that moment gets "stuck" in their memory and gets replayed again and again. She is going to talk to my mom and asked me to call her again on Friday. I really appreciate her input.
My mom has been in bed since her return from the hospital following her broken pelvis and I can't imagine her being able to be in a wheelchair and going to see my dad as early as next weekend either. So, I don't think we will be taking her anywhere as soon as we thought anyway.
This stuff is making me crazy. Honestly, right now the only part of my life that I feel like I have any control over is my eating! I'm doing pretty well there so I'm feeling good about that! So far, I've lost 6.9 lbs. I'm feeling pretty good about that. It seems like for awhile I was stalled.
I had a to do list at work and I checked it today and was pleased to see I had done almost everything on it. I went ahead and did the last thing (print a report) so now I have to do read the report and take action on the report.
In the meantime, tomorrow, I leave right after school to drive up to get Kat. We'll leave after she gets home from work on Friday, so I'll have all day Friday to sleep, work, or whatever. It will be nice. I'm not sure what I will do, but it will include walking over to Starbucks and having a latte and doing some paperwork there! What a treat!
Nancy, I loved your thing about spring. That was so cute!
Rhonda, I hope you enjoyed your girls evening out!
I want to get back into my scrapping area and do some stuff!
OK...gotta go and see what sort of stuff I brought home!
