Good day to everyone! The sun is shining and it feels like Spring here in CT with temps in the 60s. Looks like Spring with the daffodils starting to bloom.

My prayers go out to Karen's and Netta's families with the passing of their relative.

Ziggy--Praying April will be a much better month for you.
Cassie--Love the Tshirt!
Renee--Prayers are lifted for your daughter.
Coffee--Your projects are very nice. And your puppy is adorable.

My second grandson, who lives in TX, ruptured his achilles during a pickup basketball game a couple of weeks ago. He will be having surgery on Friday and in a cast/brace for a year. He is not taking that to well, since he is in college and holds down a job as well.

Friday my scrapping VA daughter is flying up to CT and we are going to a three day scrapbooking crop. It is held in a beautiful country inn. I am so looking forward to going and getting a few more pages done in an album I only seem to work on when I am at one of these crops. It is an album about my grandchildren.

I would say I spent around $245.00 TH and Martha Stewart on HSN, as well as two cartridges from Hallmark Scrapbook.

Here are three cards I made recently. The first is a welcome baby card for my greatgranddaughter Malia. The second is a birthday card for her mother, my granddaughter-in-law. And the third is a get well card I made from the scraps left over from the birthday card.

Hello and Happy Hump Day.....

JCI as I've had a rough week and it just doesn't look like its going to past anytime soon.Crying

CraftyNetta - glad the memorial service for your cousin went well, will continue to lift them in in prayer as they try to heal. Our family buried our oldest living relative on Monday. She passed at the age of 92, we're thankful that she lived a full life, my mother was her caregiver so she has been quite sad. As far as the basketball tournament VCU played well and the good thing is that the school gave the coach a hefty raise and an 8 year contract.

PKay - DH is doing well, he is scheduled for more surgery on Monday, nothing too serious but we're hoping it will help him with some of the pain and enhance his therapy tolerance. Thanks for asking.

Cofee - great projects and cute furbaby, tfs.

DakotaBear - well wishes for your grandson for a complete recovery. As usual your cards are nice, enjoy your weekend crop and spending time with your DD.

Renee - I hope that all is working out for DD, prayers being lifted.

Yaya - sorry about the drama at work for your DD, hope she can find another job soon.

Kim - enjoy your b-day and have fun playing along with your DDs and DH.

Waving hello to all my scrappin' sistas and brother and wishing you all a great day.

Netta, I am so sorry to hear about the tragic loss in your family. We are all part of everyone's extended family and what touches one touches all. Forgiveness isn't always possible, but trying hard to focus on the good memories does get a teeny tiny bit easier as time passes.

Ella, I started to cry when I read what happened to your grandsons. As much evil as there is in the world I do think that the intentional harming of a child is the very worst.

Thank you all for your kind words here and in emails. Today has actually been the first day I've had even enough energy to sign on the board and find the latest Sistas chat.

Here is my latest and believe me it could be much worse: I am now extremely anemic due to the treatment I am receiving for Hep-C. They do not lower the dosages of the Interferon or Ribavirin to stop the anemia. Instead I have been given one blood transfusion and have also been started on weekly shots of Procrit, which is a blood product used mostly by cancer patients. It boosts the hemoglobin level.

The level of Hep-C in my blood has dropped and that is a very good sign.

I am also on an anti-nausea prescription and it is helping a lot. I have no appetite but I am managing to eat and keep my food down. Have only lost a couple pounds which is fine with me. I'm eating way less but I'm not getting much normal daily exercise to burn off the calories.

Some people on this treatment have no side effects, some only have them a couple days a week, and some are seriously sick all the time. I feel like I have the flu all the time and my insides feel like limp wet noodles. My bone ache a lot, especially my legs at night. I am so sleepy all the time that I sometimes fall asleep with a spoon in my mouth or when I'm typing on the computer.

I am itchy all over and am taking otc Benedryl for that and am using a steroid prescription shampoo to help my itchy scalp. My hair is not falling out by the roots, but it is breaking off in tiny little short curls. I am not going to even consider shaving my head like cancer patients because I would end up with ingrown hairs and would probably also break out in a rash on my tender scalp. It's pretty short right now, just enough to curl over a small hair curler, if I had the desire and the energy to put one in. I might cut it even shorter all over, sorta spiky looking. I sure don't want to try for the "comb-over" look, LOL.

Basically my day consists of sleeping, taking my meds, brushing my teeth, taking my bath and changing my clothes, and going back to bed, several times a day.

I haven't been able to get into my craft room, either to play with my Cricut, use my stamps, or work on a little quilt I was making.

I did buy a new computer program. It's from Stampin Up and it's called My Design Studio. It includes a big selection of digi-stamps and elements. I had some trouble getting it loaded properly so I could get it to print and to update, but I finally got it working right. It's a nice toy to play with because I don't need to take out my stamps and ink and then clean up afterwards. I can just use it on my home computer.

Not sure when I will get back online here, but didn't want my sweet friends to think I had completely forgotten about them.

Char

Hi ladies and gent! Posting from my IPOD again tonight. It's nice to be able to lie down and read and write. I finished packing for my trip to St. Louis. I am getting excited now. I have faith things will be fine here. There will be plenty of people checking on dd and the boys. Plus with all of your prayers, all will be well. And I can't thank you all enough for lifting us up. I do the same for you each night.
CharB- so nice to hear from you. Thank you for your kind words. I am sorry you are going thru so much. But I am glad it is working. I pray this will pass quickly for you. Keep resting!

Dakota-beautiful cards! Love all of them. Have fun this weekend!

Kim-I'm doing pretty good. The boys are doing much better, so that took a big load off. As soon as he is arrested I will feel so much better. I know the detective is working on his report and he keeps in touch so we know it is being worked on. It's a small town with a small police department. I can't wait to hear about your birthday!

Cassie-I bought Kirk Franklin's cd and I love it. I Smile has been uplifting for both me and dd.

Netta-it is good to hear your cousin had a nice service. I will keep praying for the family.

Mom2-I am praying all is well with your dd.

I guess I should go to sleep. I am not looking forward to the 4 hour drive! So I could just sleep thru it. But that might be rude! Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey everyone…I hope that all are well. I’m going to get the icky stuff out the way first. I spent $451.89 in March ($45 of that was birthday money) and $58 on what I call craft education (CKC-Mesa and the sketch class at MCC). I swear, I don’t know where the money came from. What I DO KNOW is that this needs to stop!!!!!

Coffee…I saw that CD case idea for spellbinders and decided that it probably wouldn’t work for me. I had many of my clear stamps stored that way and I hated it, so I took them all out. I like the idea of being able to flip through the pages to find what I want. Nice projects…I especially love the darling puppy…LOL!

Ziggy…So sorry to hear about the expensive car repair, but grateful that you weren’t hurt. I’m with you…I’ve been in several fender benders and I don’t go after people either. I don’t think I could handle weekly challenges either. At this point, I don’t even know if I could complete a monthly challenge unless school is out.

Cassie…Ross often has good scrap goodies…but you have to catch them. If you see it and can’t decide, buy it anyway. You can always return it. I missed out on a great big EK Success punch (they had about 8 of them) that would have been perfect for making those layered flowers, but I hemmed and hawed and put it back, and when I went in the following week it was gone. You did a really nice job on your t-shirt.

TP… I didn’t know about the loss in your family but it sounds like her life was long and full. I hope that DH’s surgery does what it is designed to do. Keeping you in my prayers…stay strong.

Netta…my prayers are with you and your cousin. I know it’s probably going to be tough.

Yaya…All I have to say is WOW about your DD’s manager. Sounds like the manager was having a meltdown.

HisGem…Quarter Note has a BEAUTIFUL font on it as well as all of the great musical images.

Dakota…So sorry to hear about your GS. He has to wear a cast for a year???? Offering up prayers that his surgery goes well. I absolutely LOVE your cards! Did you emboss the top layer of the baby card before you cut it out?

Char…so glad to see you back. It sounds like you’ve been having a rough time. It’s tough when treatment designed to eradicate one illness/disease causes other health issues. I pray that it gets better for you.

Ella...I pray that you have a safe trip and an enjoyable time.

I am sharing a card I made for DS to give my mom on her birthday and a card I made for my brother whose birthday was yesterday. I forgot to call him but I DID get the card in the mail, albeit a day late!

Good Morning,

CharB – Great to see you. Sorry the meds have you on this endless cycle, but the numbers are falling and that’s a GREAT thing.

Dakotabear – Lovin’ the cards, especially that first one!

Ellamap – Have a blast in St. Louis! DD and the boys will be more than fine! You make sure you relax and enjoy yourself.

Karen – I have not forgotten about the picture I owe you. Tonight!!!! I love the card!!!!!

Hello Ladies.

Hear at home with my feet propped up. This weather changed constantly works havoc on my ole arthur. My feet are killing me.

Char, you do as Cassie and the other ladies have said and take care of yourself. We miss you but we know you are ok. Just drop in when you can?

Is anybody buying the Yudu today at Michael's? Not I said the cat. Trying to get Symone to take an afternoon nap. I need one but never go to sleep and leave her up.

BBL.

Oh yes my total was in between $400.00 and $700.00 and that's my story and I am sticking to it.

Hello....Thursday checkin!!!

Karen cute cards, I especially like the one you made for your brother, tfs.

Charb so glad that you were able to finally check-in, prayers and best wishes for continued improvement.

Nice weather here today so I'm looking forward to leaving work in time to enjoy some of the sunshine.

I haven't had a chance to complete my weekly LO, I've got to get on it, I started it but haven't had a chance to finish it. I have made a few cards, nothing fancy and they've been sent via snail already. I've yet to get to the bottom of my problem with my G but as long as it still cuts and its just that one word I'll just use it as it is. I did get my DS reinstalled after my laptop crashed.

Waving hello and wishing everyone a happy scrappin' day!

Hello all! It has been forever since I have posted. Life has been really crazy and I have been running in circles trying to catch up to it.

DH's grandfather has terminal cancer and we have been doing all that we can to spend time with him in Chicago & still maintain work & school here in Virginia.

I had my nieces & nephew up to visit from Georgia last week for their sprin break - it was so nice to have them visit and then just as nice to take them back to my sister - they wore me out. My oldest niece used to live with me for 10 years and just recently went back to stay with my sister - so it was REALLY nice having her back in the house.

I have been trying to find time to craft and have been sneaking in some cards here and there - it is relaxing to me, so I have been doing it as much as possible.

Sending hugs and prayers to all those that need it! I am working a night shift tonight so I will try to go back and catch up as much as I can.

I have missed you all!

Good Morning and TGIF!

Dakota just to let you know that you & your love ones (DGS) are in my thoughts and prayers today. I pray for God's healing touch and that the angels of protection flock around your DGS during and after the surgery. Love your cards and the Get Well Soon is my favorite. The use of the negative is a "go to" technique for me.

Scrappin RN, So sorry about DHGF. My prayers are with you and your family. I can relate to trying to spend time with a love one when they are miles away. I pray for traveling grace. I am glad that your neices are able to spread happiness in the midst of it all. God will give us what we need to get through. I read something the other day that said, " God might not stop the raging storm, but he will prepare you to endure it. Be Blessed.

Karen, ILY cards. Are you all preparing for standardized Testing? Hope things are going well at school with your students. I think of you often.

Hello TSREL, how are you homey? Go on and get that YUDU,so we will have something else to play with, LOL.

Glad to see you on-board, Char.

Hello Netta, still praying for you guys,

TP98, I hope your week has settled down and things are in your favor and going your way.

Hey Kimmy, how are you and the twins? I knew you would comment on my puppy. I know a pet lover when I see one. How are you babies?

I know I missed a few of you guys, but blessings for you all.

You all have a safe and crafting weekend.

Hi All. Doing a quick drive by to check on my other Federal employee sistahs. How are you all holding up under the stress? We just had our meeting to determine who reports on Monday if no agreement is reach. I am one of VERY few who reports,so thats a blessing. At least I will get a check.

A quick update on DD. She is feeling better. The meds they gave her are working and she does not need them everyday now. She still has not had her brain MRI and we have not heard back from the neurologist. I will be following up with them next week if he does not call soon. Thank you for your continued prayers. We are praying that when they do the last test, nothing abnormal will show up and that she will be healed.

Anyway, I am off to try to do hearings. The court reporter should be getting there any minute and I can get started. We are only a few hours late. What a day.

Renee - Thanks for the update on DD.

This Federal Gov't business is something else. We haven't heard anything yet on our end. I'm assuming as a contractor, we're at the bottom of the information totem pole. 3 of the Fed workers here are essential and will report Monday. Funny thing about that is only 1 out of the 3 actually do work for the most part. It appears likely I'll be reporting but you never know.

Here are two more shirts I made this week:

Hey Ladies and Gent…So glad it’s Friday. Looking forward to going home and just chillin’. The school choir has a field trip tomorrow to go see the Sound of Music and I will be going along with DS, both as a parent and as a teacher-chaperone. He’s going to miss his baseball game tomorrow but it looks like it might be rained out anyway. Thanks for the comments on my cards everyone.

Tsrel…No more toys used for dust gathering will be coming into this house. Feet propped up sounds good!

TP…I commend you for even trying to do a weekly layout. I wish I could get it together and do that.

ScrappinRN…So glad to see you back on the board. My heart goes out to you and DH with respect to his GF. I pray that he is not suffering greatly and that you and DH are able to continue spending quality time with him. Glad your nieces and nephews are able to life your spirits.

Coffee…Thanks for thinking of me. Yes, we are preparing for standardized testing. We begin on Tuesday. A bunch of my kids simply don’t care though and have said as much.

Hi Momto2…I’ll continue to keep DD lifted and pray that they find NOTHING wrong.

Cassie…My heart goes out to all of my gov’t employee sisters. I hope that the issue is settled quickly and that it all works out in YOUR favor. Great t-shirts! When can I place my order? BigGrin

I hope to get on here again before the weekend is out! TTFN

Good afternoon ladies and gent,

My DMIL had her final surgery to pin her arm this week, although she in pain she is happy to be on the road to recovery. My job laptop crashed yesterday, after they had everyone to apply updates they knew was having issues. I had backed up everything just before the update thank goodness, now they are rebuilding it. I plan to complete some of my projects this weekend and update my blog.

Happy Birthday Kim- wishing you many more blessed years!!I hope you are enjoying your surprise your DH and DDs planned.

Ellamap-enjoy your trip, I am sure your DD and precious grandsons want you to be worry-free. Have safe travels

Coffee-hey sista, are you scrapping this weekend, are you almost done with your wedding album
Renee-I am glad your DD is feeling better, hopefully she can see the neurologist soon and get her MRI. I am praying for all the federal employees, I am sooo disgusted with how this administration is being treated and the disregard to the federal workers,Glare I hope all parties can come to a reasonable agreement
HisGem-well said and I soo agree with you

Waving hi to all my sistas and bro, have a great scrapping weekend.

Netta, even though I feel yucky I just had to post that seeing what is going on in Washington DC makes me feel even sicker. I am not trying to get political and or upset any conservatives. But there is something wrong with the picture.

I tried sending emails to the Republican reps from here in Oregon, but apparently their staffs didn't actually read the emails. I got back generic responses thanking me for agreeing with what they were doing. I wasn't rude in my emails, but trust me, beyond thanking them for working hard for all Oregonians and all Americans, I didn't say anything that would lead anyone to think I agreed with how they were handling the responsibilities of their job or most of the choices they were making. It was very disappointing. I have also sent emails to our Democratic reps and got some surprisingly nice responses that actually acknowledge the topics I mentioned.

Having been Municipal employees for our whole working careers, my hubby and I have some idea what kinds of concerns are going on in those Government offices. In addition, as we count on our PERS retirements for our entire support, we sure don't want anything to block our monthly checks. We still call them paychecks, which makes some people laugh. But we and our unions agreed to lower working wages in return for higher retirement benefits. It is not our fault that many of the city and state offices failed to properly send their share to PERS as contracted to do.

We feel fortunate, however it happened, that we are able to pay for a very costly health insurance policy that is offered to us as part of my hubbys retirement package (not mine) that they do not pay for. If we didn't have that policy I don't know what we would do. This year alone our insurance has paid out close to $20,000 for my medical bills and medication. And there are many other people who much sicker than I am who have little or no coverage. It is nice now seing the "N/A" under the lines marked annual and lifetime limits.

Okay, off my soap box,

Char

I went to Forrest hill today. It is flower heaven. Mikes and mikes of heaven then some. Didnt break the bank but it was a good day. I love flowers. I am off to register my newest carts. Bbl

We are definitely enjoying all the time with can with DH's grandfather & in the midst of it all he is submitting his applications for law school and is feeling the pressure/stress of that. He is graduating Summa Cum Laude from Norfolk State and is still hard on hisself Blushing - don't know what I am going to do with him the next 3 years!

Cassie - I am loving those shirts - need to get somemore vinyl for some projects.

Have a great day all!

Happy Sunday All,

Just wanted to stop by and say hello!! Took DS to Hershey Park yesterday and the weather was terrible. My sinuses came down hard and I am blah. He has a runny nose and a constant sneeze BUT he said this was the best birthday EVER!!! I'll take that along with my kleenex and sit down. LOL!!!

Off to give them pizza for dinner. That's how drained I am.

Hey everyone! I hope everyone's week gets off to a great start. Sending prayers to everyone that is down or sick and needs the healing powers of the Lord.

Speaking of the Lord, my sister wanted me to attend her church because she was singing today. Without getting too much into it, I'm not a fan of organized religion, thus I didn't go and now I feel kind of guilty because my mom said she was amazing.

My camera is still in New Jersey getting worked on. In the meantime, I borrowed my sisters little camera because I felt like my blog was getting neglected. I miss mine though!

Char- I really hope you get to feeling better, and I live in Alabama, so I totally understand your feelings towards those on the right. I don't understand it at all.

Cammie - Congrats to your son! Summa Cum Laude is not an easy feat (I know, I've made one B in college thus far.) I hope he gets accepted into a good law school - UVa maybe? Also, I LOVE that card. I can't seem to find images for brown skinned people.

Netta - Prayers for your DMIL and I feel your pain on the computer front. Mine needs an overhaul, but I'm a neat freak and a perfectionist to the nth degree and the cords from my computer and the peripherals drive me crazy.

Cassie - Great your son enjoyed his birthday, but I'm sorry y'all got sick.

Hi all. Checking in after a hugely busy weekend. This was our scrappy weekend, and I spent all day yesterday cropping. I got one tumbler done and two TP mini albums done for the grandparents. Will have to take a few pics later and post.

Treva, I love your VCU projects. You did a great job.

Trell, hope you had a good time in Nashville and that you get your camera back soon.

Kim, Happy Birthday!

Lei, I have been thinking of you since DD moved out. Hang in there.

CDNR, I hope your play goes well.

WFD, I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep your family lifted in prayer. And your cards are justt lovely!

Coffee, your projects are beautiful, but that puppy is just adorable.

Ziggy, you have had a tough time! Hope you trip to Vegas went well.

Dakota, beautiful cards.

Cassie, I am loving the t-shirts. I need to try one soon. Glad you and DS had fun.

Char, good to see you on the boards. Take care and check in when you can.

Netta, so good to hear that DMIL is finished with surgery.

Play, I hope your MoJo finds you soon. I think we all need a scrappy break sometimes.

YaYa, your DDs manager must have been off her rocker.

His Gem, glad you got some scrappy time in.

Scrappin RN, prayers lifted for your family as you visit DHs GF. Your card is lovely. Are the details on the candle up on your blog? BTW, be patient with DH as he does the law school thing. It is one of the most stressful things I have ever done.

Tsrel, can you plant a few flowers over here? My beds are in terrible need of attention.

Morning and Happy Monday!

Whats scrappin' how was the weekend? As for me it was work and more work!BigGrin I did finish my one weekly LO and started two others and I also did a few cards but not my swap cards that I had planned to start over the weekend.

I am currently sitting in the surgical waiting room as DH is having surgery this AM. I've been up most of the night because I was afraid I would oversleep since we had to be here at 6:00 AM.

Cammi, love your projects....I especially like the candle....Prayers and good thoughts for you and your DH...Congrats and best wishes to you and DH for his pending graduation and admittance to law school....Would he like to stay in the Tidewater area or do you all have interest in relocating?

Kim, happy belated birthday, looking forward to you sharing your scrappin' moments.

Tonya, you can have that yard work...its too taxing, DH has a service taking care of yard now and they are even doing my flower beds.

Trell, stopped by your blog, nice cards.

Okay gotta run will check back in later need to back to sit with DH for a few.
