It is really up to you. I think most of us send things from our stash. Sometimes that includes new items that we did not use, or bought for swaps, though it should mostly come from what you already have. It should be craft stuff, though I sometimes include a treat I know a particular person likes from their MQ, like a favorite candy. I have also included seasonal items, like new gardening gloves and a gardening apron. Also, I have included items for the recipient to alter, like small boxes, wooden items, etc. And, I have sent things I have made, like cards, ornaments, small wall hangings, etc. I think the requirement is 3-5 items, but most of us send quite a bit more. Though it can be tempting, do not send the "dregs"...like the last few stickers on a sheet, or paper scraps or pieces of ribbon that are really too small to do anything with, items that are stained, fabric scraps that are too small, etc. You can, however, send gently used items or a sticker sheet with only a few stickers used or ribbon that is only partly used.
I usually use the Medium Flat Rate Box from the PO to send my Grab Bags, but most send a large padded envelope or smaller one , or the Small Flat Rate Box. I am pretty much cleaned out at this point, for I have sent several of those Med. Flat Rate Boxes over the past few months...I had a lot of items I was just not using, and had decided to just focus on 3 crafting techniques...card making, painting, and sewing/crocheting/knitting. So, I got rid of everything else, but made certain to include scrapbooking/card making supplies, since I figured that was what most people would be wanting. I have enough for one or two more grab bags, just have to wait until I get paid for some sewing projects, so I can afford the postage!
That is my one caution in joining this swap....it is addictive, and can, therefore, become expensive, depending on the package you are sending. I hope you join! Just think about what you would want to receive, and you can always check the person's MQ to see if you have something personal you can send with the other items, though that is not a requirement. Send a package you would be happy to receive, and I am sure it will be grand. Welcome!
