I just got this item & it must be the 1 of the very 1st made & I am at a loss on how to use it. The cutting dials spook me. How do I know what to set the speed & pressure dials at?
Also, are the cartridges interchangeable. My machine came w/the George & Basic Shapes, but I just p/u a Cricut Lite cartridge - can I use it in my machine?
Please help - I am sooooo very lost on this

Congrats on your new purchase. Don't be afraid. It does take some time to figure out the best settings to put everything on but once you get the hang of it you'll love it. Pressure, speed, and blade depth all have to do with what type of paper you are cutting. If you go to www.aboverubiesstudio.com and download the cutting guide she has a guide that's helpful when trying to figure out your settings. All cartridges are interchangeable with all the machines EXCEPT the Imagaine cartridges. Imagine cartridges can only be used with the Cricut Imagine.

Probably the best thing to do is pull out the User Manual. It's not as thick as it looks because the instructions are printed in several languages. The first pages will explain all the parts and what they do. Once you know those, just start cutting stuff!  Once you get the hang of things, you'll love your little bug!
