Hello...I just got my Cricut at Thanksgiving time and have never mastered the shadow feature. How, you might ask, could it be so difficult? Well, I think it's my machine - I'm using the correct sizes and all but the only place it really "shadows" correctly is at the top. The bottom of my project is never large enough.
Have any of you ever had this problem, and if so, how do I correct it?
Thank you! Aimee - Warm (today) Ohio

I'm wondering if you have Real Dial size turned on. If you want a shadow for your object you need to make sure Real Dial Size (RDS) is OFF for both the top layer AND the shadow. I know you're not using Design Studio but this is a representation of what an object looks like with RDS and without RDS. The one on the left has RDS ON, the one on the right has RDS OFF. You can see that the shadow fits perfectly on the right hand side one.

I've never heard of an instance where you needed it.

If you want objects to all be exactly a certain size and not proportional to each other the real dial size is useful. Eg if you want letters in a word to all be the same height. This example shows the difference. The first has RDS turned on.
