sunflowerbug wrote:This is SCRAPTASTIC! Now I do have a question. I can see you drew them as a regular cut for detail but did you do the cutting on a shadow or blackout feature? So that you only cut the outer edge of the image? These are awesome and I can't wait to try this. I read somewhere that you could not cut thru shrinky dinks. So glad you tried

.
If you mean did she use the markers and then use a different function for the cutout, I think I can help with that.
You first use the markers and without unloading the mat, you allow the blade to go back to where you started the marker cut and CUT your shape. In order for this to work, you must ALWAYS start your cut in the upper right hand corner of the mat. That is the only way markers and the cut function work together.
1. Insert the marker and hit "cut".
2. When finished marking, hit "load paper".
3. Very carefully, exchange the marker for the blade. Be sure the arrow on the blade is facing out toward you when you replace the blade. ALSO, make sure you don't move the housing when you unscrew/screw the clamp. If you don't move it when you're putting the marker in, chances are you won't when you put the blade back in, but it is easy to move the housing. Moving it will cause the blade not to go back in the exact start position you need to stay on the markings.
Another tip, when putting the marker in and out, is to insert a little piece of scrap paper/waxed paper under where the marker/blade goes, to keep from marking on your project as you move the marker in/out.
4. Hit "repeat last". This will move the blade back to where the marker started.
5. Hit "cut".
It may take a few times to get this just right.
Hope this helps someone.
