Hello all, I'm new to the cricut world. Just received my cricut, opened it, loaded the paper on to the cutting mat and installed the knife assembly. Everything appears to be correctly installed. Problem is it does not cut. Please help.

did you remove the plastic cap on the end of the blade? (its usually blue) if so...i to had this problem and was told by a friend to buy a new set of blades, i did and it fixed the problem right away!!!!

You should also check and make sure you have the housing inserted properly - sometimes it's not low enough... I've had customers with that problem - Good Luck!!!

Yes, the cap was removed. I have the arrow on the blade assembly facing forward and set to #4, pressure setting @ #3. Just doesn't cut. It appears it is installed correctly.

If you're using heavier paper you might need to set the pressure to high or max

you may need to either update your firmware at cricut.com or reset your machine. I've never had to, but I understand there is a button behind the blade housing you push to reset.
