Just bought my new expression, would love to be able to use it. Installed Design Studio software on my laptop (Windows 7). When I plug in my Cricut, it doesn't recognize drivers. This laptop is NOT on the internet. Where can I download drivers? Edited by user Sunday, December 05, 2010 5:06:14 PM(UTC)

The drivers you need are on the DS update here: http://www.cricut.com/CDS/Update.aspxUninstall the DS you have, download the Program update at the above link and install that. (Do you have another computer you can download the program to? That way you can copy it to a cd and install from that). You'll also need to download and install the Font Pack update from the same page to get the most recent carts. If you already ARE running the most recent version of DS you can try this: http://myfaqcricutds.blogspot.c...rivers-in-windows-7.htmlEdited by user Sunday, December 05, 2010 5:12:41 PM(UTC)

Downloaded the update and font updates to desktop and copied to cd. Uninstalled the DS Software off laptop, reinstalled using updated version on CD. Installed font update.
Plugged in Cricut, still no drivers found. I was hoping to avoid putting my laptop online, do you see any other options? Thanks for any help.

I installed the DS from the website. I have windows 7. When I plug the cricut into my laptop it makes a noise like a new item has been connected. I go to my device manager and uninstall the item, I then unplug from computer and plug back in and i get a new hardware found. When it goes to install the driver it says failed.... Mary

have you tried uninstalling DS and reinstalling it from the website?
have you tried turning off your firewall or making DS an exception on your firewall?

Is there any reason you won't connect your computer to the internet, just so you can get the drivers you need? It may be all that is needed.
Other than that, I can only suggest giving PC a call and see if there is some other troubleshooting they can walk you through.

I have a new computer with Windows 7. My husband set it up, I didn't. But, I do know that in order to get some programs to work, he had to do it on the "virtual pc" that Windows 7 has. It runs in XP mode. Google that & see if there is a solution there for you.

I had this trouble today, took Narelle's advice and hit the troubleshoot and then selected the recommended search for the fix, worked great.
