I usually use my spatula to scrape off the little bits and pieces left on the mat once the cut is removed.
Today, because I was in a hurry, I took the piece of cardstock I was holding in my hand and slid it down my mat (had forgotten to clean it to get ready for my next cut, which I most generally do) and voila, the little pieces slid right off the first time I slid the cardstock down the mat! It actually works better than the metal spatula. I now plan to keep a piece of cardstock nearby just for this purpose.

Great idea ... I usually just pull out my little scrapper tool from the tool kit ... but this sounds even faster!
