Hi all I recently purchased and started using new mats on my expression. I had cut 2 or 3 other pages in black and green, but after cutting the next page of red, my mat remains covered in red 'fluff'. I did cut a moderately intricate design from the nursery rhyme cart, so of course there will be more 'bits' The mat has really lost a lot of its stick seeing as it is a new mat. Any suggestions on how to 'clean' this excess fluff off? I have read that some people use baby wipes to clean their mats, but I was a bit hesitant as I have used these to get rid of sticky glue residue off scissors etc so was worried about losing the stick off my mat. You should try using an old credit/gift card as a scraper. I know they sell a tool kit with a scraper in it but I find the old credit card works . It's good to know that I still can use a cc even if it has expired or I have reached the limit  . I also wash my mats with dish detergent and scrub it with the nylon pad then let dry over night. Remember to season your new mat so your paper doesn't get stuck on it. Hope that helps.

I use baby wipes on my mats to clean them after using them and they are stickier after I do this than before. You just have to wait until the mat dries and then put the plastic protective cover back over it.

Thanks Gina, I have used the cricut scraper to get the majority of stuff off, but it is still covered in a layer of 'fluff', but thanks for the CC tip. Cathy, I will try the baby wipes and see how I go. Thanks!

Any special kind of baby wipe? And does it stick after or do you need to put a glue on it again?

 You can also use a lint brush the sticky kind at the dollar store. I find it works well also. I also use the Tim Holtz ruler across the mat with the metal edge.

Cause I am having a HARD time removing paper from my new mat... its actual ruined a few images I cut. Will this seasoning help?

I have recently discovered that Un-Du sticker, tape and label remover works great to remove paper and cuts from a new mat. This dries very quickly and once dry the mat is just as sticky as ever.

Bazzil fluff is evil. ;) This is how I remove fluffies from my mat. I wash my mat in a mild solution of baby shampoo. I clean it with a soft cloth. I let my mat air dry. It's like new and the sticky is better than ever.
