I think I read or heard somewhere that the boxes are for making the "scene" cuts into Christmas countdown calendars. You can mount the boxes behind the window cuts and hide treats in them. I think there is a "scene" for a village and one for Bethlehem. hth

I was curious about this as well. I'd be grateful if anyone has a link or info to share.
Thanks!

I, too, would appreciate any info anyone has on this. Just wondering if you cut Village at say 7 inches, will the boxes be cut at same size or do you have to adjust the box size yourself like the Nativity tip in another post. Any info appreciated.

You can make advent calendars out of the buildings in line 1 and line 4. If you put them all together the cuts in the buildings can then be the opening for an advent calendar. You use the boxes to put behind the openings to hold small treats. http://1.bp.blogspot.com...Advent+Calendar+ME+5.jpg

Thanks so much for the great photo! Am I correct in thinking that you cut the boxes at the same setting you used for the buildings? For example, if you cut the buildings at say 10 inches, you would leave that setting when cutting the boxes and they are adjusted proportionately to fit the buildings. Again, very nice work and thanks so much for being such a help.
