Does anyone know if cricut markers will work on vinyl and not smear?

Your best bet would be to uncap a marker, make a mark in the corner of the vinyl wait for it to dry and then see if it smudges.

Did you try it? I'm curious to see how it turns out.

You might also try the write on vinyl that is being used in the Imagine.

The vinyl will smear and/or stain. The only thing I have seen stay is a pen mark, but the color will eventually rub out. It's not meant to allow anything like that since it is treated to be used outdoors (waterproof) so you should save yourself a mess.
Avery, Papilio, and now Cricut sell a white, printable vinyl. If you intend to use markers on it, I would recommend buying clear overlaminate or clear gloss over film to make sure it does not fade, run, or smear in the future.

I tried using the cricut markers today on vinyl, even though I waited for it to dry it smeared so I went over the writing with a permanent marker, let it dry then wiped it down with a damp paper towel taking off the original, it worked out great for me
