Okay, I have a challenge for us. We all enjoy seeing photos of perfectly organized craft spaces with the symmetric jars and color coordinated doo-dads. What I want to see is the MESS! C'mon! We all make them when we craft and sometimes well... I'll admit it, sometimes the mess will sit a little longer than I'd like it to. Why do I want to see this? because it'll will make us all (me in particular) feel better to see that we aren't alone. Do you have an space in your craft are that needs attention that you just can't seem to get to? Are you in the middle of a project? Multiple projects? Has the mess-monkey crept into your craft space and created a craft/crime scene while you were sleeping? working? cleaning some other part of your home? Did you relocate your craft space and take photos of the process? Is there an area that you are or WERE working on that is now done? I'm less interested in before and after but if you must you must (sigh). . C'mon crafters! I know it wasn't YOU who made the mess -- show us what the mess-monkey did? Happy Crafting!

Oh perfect! I'm in the middle of re-doing my craft room (just started painting)... it's a complete disaster... my son even makes comments (he's only 6!) I'll try to take a pic (or 4) before work tomorrow, as I'm going to bed right now... ETA: why did I think I would remember to take a pic early in the morning??? Totally forgot... later? okay, I'll be first to post my disaster... pic 1: bags on the floor are kids' clothes for my friend, whenever she comes over to get them! You can see the sample dark pink color on the wall (covered by a calendar). pic 2: I'll be rotating the shelf around, so that I can have better access to it. All the papers will be moved eventually when I finish the room. The afternoon sun sometimes shines that corner of the room, so I don't like leaving them there. Some of them have been bleached a wee bit when they were in a different room. I don't know why I have that chair, I almost never use it! pic 3: New wall color for most of the room. Ended up drying darker than I thought, but no regrets. I will not be keeping that bookcase, just haven't gotten it down the stairs yet. Will be getting a white 2x4 Expedit to go on the wall to the right. pic 4: peg board is right behind the door. Yes, the desk is completely UNorganized. pic 5: oh... didn't realize that closet door was slightly open, you can see the sliding doors from our sons' bathroom in there! kaleidoscope wrote:Um, where's your picture?? Mine is pretty much cleaned up. Now the rest of my house....... Fair point. After adding that post, I looked for the picture of my "big table" on my phone. I'm crushed that I can't find it. I have another computer to check because I actually went through the effort to label all the crap that didn't belong on it. :( I'll have to take ANOTHER one - it won't be nearly as good as the first.

FOUND IT!!!! As I was moving things into my new craft-office, the mess-monkey put everything atop this big table. I LOVE my "Big Table". When I set it up initially, it was beautiful. Then as I arranged and rearranged, and brought more stuff into the room, that monkey went nuts and did this... Edited by user Tuesday, October 19, 2010 5:13:19 AM(UTC)

Here is the big table after I kicked the mess-monkey's butt! Sorry about the attachment bit, I don't know why sometimes it loads into the file and other times it loads as an attachment. I'll keep working on the image in that before post. happy scrapping! ~~L*I*N*D*A ^I~N^ C*O*L*O*R*A*D*O~~ attached the following image(s):

The big table is also my sewing, cutting, pressing table. It's 3'x6' so I can literally climb on top of it. It's up on two file cabinets on wheels. They also serve as storage for Aerogarden and craft stuff. Those backless stools go way-low and way-high so they are great for crafting, watching television, sewing, pinning -- everything! LOVE EM! I'm still arranging in that room so there are still some other areas in my office that I'm de-monkeying. Again, apologies for not posting mine first since I started the thread --but this documentation should MORE than make amends.

Oh -- and so far I haven't used that craft-paper/dispenser which is taking up valuable "big-table" real-estate but it makes me so happy to look at it when I walk in there that I don't care. I thought of mounting it UNDER the table but there's already stuff under there. It "eats" about 9" of the end of teh 6' table so it's ok. Eventually I plan to use it for testing, painting, sketching, with my pattern copying, drafting, and Lutterloh pattern kit. It's a good heavy-weight paper and it's got crazy-great dimension 3 ft across and 1000ft of paper. I THINK I'll have it for a while. Happy crafting! ~~L*I*N*D*A ^I~N^ C*O*L*O*R*A*D*O~~ attached the following image(s):

Your post is so funny. Ah from the mouths of babes -- eh? lol Don't feel bad, even with all the crap I've lugged into that room, I STILL need to pull it all back out and paint. I envision me painting one wall at a time. We'll wait until you're ready! [bceg] Happy Scrapping!

Peg boards are great -- I've only got the small ones from JM. They are useful but bigger is better Nice Space and Thanks for sharing?? Happy Crafting!

Peg boards are great -- I've only got the small ones from JM. They are useful but bigger is better Nice Space and Thanks for sharing?? Happy Crafting! I'm liking the 'lighter' pink more and more. All those walls are painted, but I need to put on a second coat in some places. My husband is dying that I am painting it pink, but oh well! I haven't bought the Expedit yet. I drive by the local Ikea on the way to/from work each day. I'm waiting until I get rid of that brown bookcase, and until after I finish rearranging the rest of the room. The peg board was twice the size, and I got it from Lowe's. I used my husband's primer spay can to cover it white (was originally going to spray paint it white afterward, but the primer looks good enough). Yeah, I need to add another cafe rod as I have more punches to put up. Was thinking of taking a pic of the complete mess I have right now, but I don't want anyone to start convulsing at their computers!

I've told an online-friend that she should get this set-up for her kids. I would LOVE to have had something like that as a child. I chose this paper storage/size because it reminded me SO much of the ones my teachers always had in elementary school. Needless to say, there was always plenty of paper to protect our worktables from messy projects and to create artwork. Ahh... the good old days.
