I recently bought the Tinkerbell and Cars cartridges thinking I could use them to quickly print and cut on the Imagine...(Hoping to get it for Christmas) Then someone burst my bubble....will I or won't I be able to do this?

You can color the images in and cut them in the layers but it won't cut and print a complete image for you as they would appear when done.

maybe if you used a marker before cutting, then you could color it in instead of layering it. All of the character carts require layering. I'm not sure that I am understanding your question so if this is not an answer, I am sorry. Edited by user Friday, October 22, 2010 3:11:51 PM(UTC)

I just purchased it too. I am new to Cricut and I just purchased the Imagine. From what I have read, it says that you can use the cartridges that they have been selling, which I assumed was used by the Expression. I saw the Expression demonstrated. But when I load the cartridge, the machine does have a place for the cartridge, it said that it needed an update. I came to the provo website and the only thing I see about updates is for the Imagine machine drivers and everyone is having problems with the machine. I am very frustrated with this machine. I am seriously thinking about returning the machine. It cost to must money to have all these issues and non compatibility, which it said that it had. Does anyone know what updates the machine is looking for and where I can find it? Thanks,

Oh wow, I just bought an Imagine and was hoping to be able to print Tinkerbell out and not do the layers. So, if I am reading this right you can only do layers not whole pictures? Edited by user Wednesday, October 27, 2010 11:07:41 AM(UTC)

oh my, I never heard of this product... Cool, but it seems like a lot of work LOL. Looks like you still have to layer each piece. That makes no sense to me. Why not just print the color for each layer on one layer and then cut out the shape? I do not think this is a product that I would be interested in. TO REPLY TO HAVINGFUN...
I have an Imagine and YES it was very frustrating with the original cartridges not being read...I spoke directly to ProvoCraft on Monday and the Tech Team was diligently working on that problem...later that night I completed the update and EVERYTHING works fine now. My Gypsy even works with my Imagine now!!! Hope this helps..The machine is great ~ I think it is a learning curve that both us (as users) and Cricut are going through together. Hang in there! IN RESPONSE TO MARY LADAGE... Rock Princess has drums on page 59.
There is an amazing Free website out there that will help locate cartridge images if you do not have a Gypsy... It is Cricutsearch.com This is a free site but will accept donations.
Hope this helps. Jennifer
