I always for get this when I am making cards, but I know that you need to make the envelop first, but I was just wondering if I should have it set on real dial both times when I am making the card and the envelop or not. I want my card to be the exact size of my envelop and not have to cut anything off. Any other tips you have about card making would be most helpful. Thanks so much for the help. Amy

On most cuts, if you want the shapes in proportion to one another, you would have Real Dial size turned off. For instance, if a shape also has a shadow with it, you set both to the same size and cut. The machine figures out the proportions for you so that the shadow is a little bigger. I think cards and envelopes work the same way although I haven't really played with them.

If you want it as big as you can get it on the mat, I use Fit to Page for the envelope. Then I set whatever size it cut that for the card
