There are a lot of words and phrases on cartridges that are great for cards but it can be difficult to cut them at very small sizes.
One way to make it easier is to cut the words in vinyl. I have had very good luck with even teeny tiny cuts in vinyl (look at the tiny dot on the "i") and the adhesive is already neatly on the entire cut so there are no smudges to worry about.
Here is a sentiment that I adapted in Design Studio and then cut at about 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 (for the entire sentiment - the letters are about 1/2 inch tall)
Here is the card where I used the letters. I used the Reminisce Accents cartridge for the frame cut. There are fifty wonderful frame designs on this cartridge.

Thanks for the tip, I never thought of that. I am making calendars and I cannot get the valentines day (from designers calendar )to cut for me no matter what I try. I tried a new blade, new matt and good cardstock and still cannot get it to cut. I will have to try some vinyl. I hope this works. Great card also!!

I do this too. Vinyl is great comes in lots of colors and you can pick between glossy or matte vinyl.

This is a well known "secret" amongst the old vinyl forum gals (old forum no old gals). Another great tip: when you are cutting vinyl for walls, etc. Fill in the empty areas with sentiments. Then you will make the most of your vinyl and have sentiments on hand when you need them.

Thanks for the great tip. I'll have to try this. I had become so frustrated with small letters and phrases not cutting out that I had resigned myself to just cutting larger ones.

The vinyl I used for this card was "Wall Pops" which is available in craft stores and some home improvement stores - even college bookshops since it is meant to be used to decorate the walls and is removable.
The Cricut vinyl is available online and in stores and there are other brands too. I think in the vinyl forum you will find some tips and advice on types and where to buy it.
Some people have been able to get free "scraps" of vinyl from a local sign store which would be fine for cards too.

I love the tip about filling in the gaps so you don't waste any vinyl - I always try to use my supplies as efficiently as possible so I'll have to think ahead next time I do something for the wall.
