Here are my questions....
1. Your Christmas decorating style and colors used in your home:
red and green

2. Please list some inexpensive wishlist items for your SS to consider treating you with:
ATG refills, pop dots, bling, Copic Sketch G05, foam refills for TH handle.

3. Using the list of ideas in Post 1 for ideas, is there anything you would love to have made for your by your SS? Or, in the alternative, is there certain items you do not need more of?
Cricut jammie for my Imagine would be great. I have several mini albums so I don't need any. Spellbinder cuts would be great. I love surprises

4. Your favorite food/snack holiday treat? Milk Chocolate Lindt Truffles

5. Do you have a preference for notecards, thank you cards, or giftcard holders?notecards or giftcard holders would be great.

6. Do you do Layouts? 8x8 or different size? Not many..but when I do its 12x12.

7. Snowman lover? Or something else you would prefer for a wintry, but not Christmas-y theme? Yes, love snowmen.
8. List some of your favorite Christmas Carols. Too many to pick a favorite

9. Are you okay with receiving religious items? Sure
10. Are you okay with religious type of holiday verses on cards or other projects? Sure

11. For Christmas themed crafts - do you prefer traditional, modern, or vintage style?
traditional or vintage.

12. If your partner were to make you a Mini Album or Altered Frame, tray, etc - would you prefer Christmas theme or other theme?
Altered frame or tray would be great. Christmas or Winter theme.

13. Your style of crafting preferred overall?
Don't really have a style but like distressed.

14. Just in case your SS would like to treat you with one extra special gift, please list an item or two that you would love to have in your craftroom, that is more pricey then say a tube of glue.
TH water brush, would like to try his distress markers (pine needles, barn door, festive berries)

15.Do you like/use Maggie stamps? If so, are there any newer ones you would like to have (drooling over)?
The Day Before Christmas (from Winter Wonderland Collection)

I just updated my MQ....something I hadn't done in a long, long time!

SO now I can work on SS assignments and you all should have PMs from me this evening.

I need SharleneCrafts to answer questions and check in here please.

Please make sure you come back here and post and acknowledge you received your SS assignment. And remember, it's a secret! So hush on the name!

Last, I'm sure you will have some questions for your SS once you review their answers to questions, etc.

We will gather up new questions presented by you all and add to the running list of questions and then you can all edit and add those answers to your own posts too by next weekend please. So just PM me with new questions this week.

And remember that there are 20 directives, so that averages out to taking care of 2 directives each week between now and the Due Date. It would be wonderful if we all could actually manage to complete 2 directives each week and stay on top of this swap! lol Challenging myself to do just that!!!!

Good for you!!!!!! Have fun.
I used to go when the kids were small.Smile

I am rearranging my craft room a little!!!! I bought a literature shelf that has 12 slots for my 8 1/2 X 11 cardstock. So now I need to see how I can rearrange the empty spotsLOL I am sure I won't have any problem filling them up with somethingBigGrin BigGrin
I also need to see if I can fit a tub in my closet. Lots of my alterable items are on the shelves taking up valuable space!!!!!!

20% off on everything today at M's between 3 & 7pm so I will go and see if I can pick up a few things I need for my craft show projects. Going to make some matching gift bags & tags so I am hoping they have the kraft ones.

Be back later tonight for my assignmentLOL LOL LOL

Okay, everyone has been sent a PM.

Please make sure you have tried your best to answer the questions to help your SS come up with ideas that you will be excited to receive the day you open your swap box!

Also, this is good day to update your MQ.

Last, the newer gals are going to need some help with how to go about finding ideas, or finding sites or blogs to get ideas from. So please contribute some links to help them out.

Splitcoaststampers is a great site for all kinds of tutorials under their resources. Plus I just enjoy checking out the postings to the Gallery each day.

I'll soon take time to add links to some of the prior years' xmas swaps so they can look at pics posted.

Oh, and here's another tip:

Either print out or jot down the list of 20 directives so you can begin to jot down ideas as you think of them. Or make notes on where to go back to find pictures or tutorials of the ideas you found.

Then you can start to whittle down your ideas to match up best to your partner and start to pull your supplies. I often set aside a box or tote to toss things in as I think of them. Like I don't want to forget to use a certain stamp or a certain sheet of paper, etc. Or I print out directions on a tutorial and toss in the box. Anything to help keep you organized.

Also, you will want to cut out 20 tags. Each tag you will write down the verse on it. So when your SS receives her box, she will open it up to see 20 gift wrapped items, all labeled.

Gift wrap can simply be tissue paper or wrapping paper, cellophane bags, stocking, santa sack, etc. Anything to light up your SS's face! It's all about sending joy!

I just always suggest wrapping items to keep them from getting tattered as they shift around inside the box while travelling from state to state.

Don't forget to print out or jot down your SS's mailing addy for safe keeping too.

And start to think about finding a box that will be big enough to hold 20 items. This swap box should certainly be bigger then the size of a shoebox.

I heard from peachy today! I almost forgot to post that!

Yesterday was Kiko's bday! She's super busy with work and still crafting, just not swapping. and, btw, they moved into a bigger home too.

She said she'd try to pop in and say Hi!

And she had been spying on the swaps this year, checking out how well we are all doing. She said she was tempted more then once to join one of Kelley's monthly swaps, but just knew she shouldn't, due to workload.

So just wanted to pass that on as some of you had been asking me about her recently.

Okay, I added links to the past 3 Christmas swaps. The page you go to is the page that the first pictures start on - so then you can keep clicking on page after page.

The links are found at the bottom of post one!

It might give some of the newer swappers some ideas or answers to what is expected in these swaps.

Just a reminder that last year's swap wasn't so much about xmas themed items...so you will see a little bit of everything!

The 2011 year is a good one though

and the 2010 year has us looking more inexperienced, I'm sure!

WE've improved with age, for sure! ha ha!

2009 would be on the old MB, so can't get us to that one.

It's a shame Peachy is too busy to play with us this Round but glad to hear she's well.

I on the other hand feel like crap, so even though I was at a Js today, I didn't even go in. (That should attest to how yucky I feel.) Took Mom apple picking and to the Christmas Tree Shoppe as promised but by then I was so done. The CTS is 3 doors down from J's in the same plaza and I just couldn't bring myself to go in. I will NOT be starting your stuff until I feel better SS so I don't send it WEST of me... (hint #1)

Another thing on packing is to use plastic bags on any treats so other items don't get messed up if they break/melt. When it comes time to ship look up the weather in your recipient's area; if it looks to be rainy/snowy putting everything inside the box neatly in a plastic bag can save much heartache if they have a lazy mail carrier...

Off to stalk my partner...

I just have 4 gals that have not been on the MB yet to open up their SS assignment PM.

Just a friendly reminder to please double check your answers and make sure you answered each of them. Especially list some songs or carols as otherwise you make it pretty tough for your SS to come up with a Carol to work with on the one directive! lol

And make sure you update your MQ too. I know I spent a long time yesterday revamping mine.

Also, for those of us that have had the MQ listed for a long while.....it's nice if you add a line at the top of your post with "Updated on Sept. 2013" so your SS knows you have recently updated and will feel more secure in not ending up duplicating items from your wishlists, etc.
