I was thinking it would be fun to start a swap group here on the board for minis. Anyone want to join in?
I am taking sign-ups now thru 8/25.
Books should be postal by 10/8/2010
need ideas about what types of books I am talking about see here:

http://youtu.be/2lHRUZ77N70Your book does not have to be in the style of the ones in the video, those were just for ideas. We just want high quality work with attention to detail, no matter the style. Here is a photo of a book I made that differs from the ones in the video, but still has details.

Rules:
You will have one month to make your mini.
Each person will be assigned a swap partner. It will be up to you to communicate with your partner so that you can create a mini that suits their needs.
The album should be a cherished keepsake. What that means is - put lots of love and effort into this. (If you don't have the patience, time or desire to create detailed work, please do not sign up.)
Book requirements:
All books must be a minimum of 4x4 and a max of 6x8.
Books must have a front and back cover at at least FIVE additional pages (that is ten pgs if u count front and back plus the 2 covers = 12 pages)
Books must be made out of sturdy materials - chipboard, matboard, acrylic, thin wood, even heavy canvas. (Basically all pgs must be the thickness of medium weight chipboard) *Card stock in mini page protectors is fine, but plain card stock pages are not sturdy enough for a mini.
All books must be well bound - spirals, rings, ribbons what have you...make it sturdy, the pages turnable, and attractive.
Embellishments & techniques - use flowers, ribbon, stamps, embossing, fibers, charms, rhinestones, distressing, beads, wire, etc in your albums.
Interactive elements - minis are made to be touched so be sure to include pockets, envelopes, pull outs, folds etc for tons of extra room for photos and journaling.
Use your Cricut in at least 3 elements in the book.
Challenge: incorporate LEAVES in your books somehow.
How to sign up:
PM me that you would like to sign up along with your email address and style of mini you make (vintage/shabby, bright/modern, wordbook, etc.) And your skill level - BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE, ADVANCED I will pair people accordingly. Once I have all the pairs assigned, I will post the list here and PM you your partner's info. It will be your responsibility from there to contact your partner and discuss album design ideas.
NO FLAKERS ALLOWED. Anyone who fails to fulfill their obligations in this swap will not be allowed to join in any future swaps for a period of 6 months. Since this is a one on one swap, it is crucial that you take this seriously. Don't sign up if you don't think you will have the time to complete the album.
Once you have completed your album post to this thread to let us know. I will update the list as I hear from you.
Optional:
If you make a video for your mini album and post it on youtube, please tag it CMAC (Cricut Mini Album Club). That way we can easily find your videos.
Also I am part of a mini album blog that is just starting up. I will be running a swap there as well in the coming months, with slightly different (more detailed) requirements. Feel free to pop over and bookmark us. We have a team of talented ladies that will be posting album ideas each month.
