If the Cuttlebug is in the box, you should have received 2 "B" plates and 1 "A" plate. The "C" plate is a great addition. For regular embossing folders, you will need to use "A" plate and 2 "B" plates. This 'sandwich' will be used for the "Cuttlebug" cutting dies, too.

I have developed several posts about the Cuttlebug. Here is a link to most of the posts.
My Cuttlebug Collection

Have fun with this fabulous machine! I would give up my Cricuts before I would my Cuttlebug!!!

The Cuttlebug is a great tool but for cutting shapes, I prefer the Cricut. Mainly because you can decide what size you want an image to be instead of having to use an image the size of the die.

Say you want a flower. . .the size of your flower will be whatever size the flower is on the die. But with a Cricut and a cart with a flower, you can cut the flower anywhere from 1 inch to the size of the mat your Cricut uses!

This is a great start.
I have the Cuttlebug, tons of folders and dies.
For cuts I do prefer my Cricut machines so the sizes can be adjusted but have I fun cutting with dies in my Cuttlebug.
With the Cuttlebug you can use all kinds of dies and embossing folders.
Remember if you get a Cricut you will need to buy cartridges to have more designs to cut with.
(Some machines do not come with a cartridge some do. Check it before you buy)
I also have an Expression and an Original Cricut.

Basically you just need to see what kinds of creations you want to make and get materials you need to make them.

Most of all have a wonderful time crafting.
