I don't understand this cartridge when you go to the layer to print Elmo's eyes, both the white forground (has a hole in it to show the black eyeball through) and the black background (for the eye) are on the same layer. I have to waste paper cutting them all twice in two colors and throwing away the part I didn't need. Am I doing something wrong?

P.S. Does anyone have a better digital copy of this manual then the one you can download from this site? Mine is terrible and really hard to see anything on. I don't know what they put it on here with such low resolution. I bought and downloaded this cartiridge digitally, so didn't get a hard copy in the mail.
