LOVE the annivesary card for your parents! The emerald color with white looks so crisp and clean. Like all the bling with the gems and the button adds a sentimental touch. Congrats to them both!

How can we ever have too many crafting tools when every week something new, bigger, better, improved comes along that we JUST have to have!LOL LOL. But, I do have to recommend that you get the Zyron Create-a-Sticker. NanaDonna gifted me one for my B'day in October and I LOVE it. Don't know how I ever made cards without one before, great when adding adhesive to small cuts.

2nd B'day Card - I also don't use the DS too much, but sure handy when needing a special design or your own original designed cut, and it worked on here for you very well. Like the flower with the swirls and the BG paper is different, really like it.

#1 - NOW that is the kind of flourish I was looking for to use on my #1 card. The cut is so pretty (nice job cutting it out)and really interpets the sketch the best..so frilly and delicate love it! Pretty BG paper, blue colors and layered heart.

Jennie - What a beautiful card for your sister. The colours are so pretty, just LOVE that flourish it is perfect for this sketch.

Nancy - Great card for your son in law, like the back ground paper I can see peeking through and a great sentiment.

I hardly have used the DS but yesterday I logged on to the Craft Room thing at the top of the page, it looks very similar to DS and I think it is free, plus you get a cartridge to cut free for a week which sounds quite fun. The only trouble is I run out of time to craft when I get on it as it takes me a while to do things as I am a bit slow when it comes to PC stuffBlushing .

You know what I am looking for and that is a cartridge with nice words on it, you know for adding to scrapbook pages or even a card. A bit like those on home decor but lots more. Can anyone help with that one.

Finally was able to get sketch one completed last night. Of course, I had to wait until today to take the picture! I'm teaching a small group of ladies from my Sunday School class tomorrow on how to do and make cards. Should be interesting not real sure what to expect or how many will show! Goodness. Here's my sketch one, it's a birthday card I made for my sister. Her birthday is in May. So I was trying to get a head start on things!

I used a plaid background and used an embossing folder on the background. Then, I used another paper that had sunflowers all over and used the flower for the edging. Then I used the Love Ya Lotte cartridge for the badge on the front of the card. Cut the green paper at 3' then cut the white paper at 2 1/2'. Finally, I got the digi stamp from a photographer I found on the web. I'll get the link to here when I finish this post so you can view their site.

Finally, I attached to green gems at the top and the bottom of the badge. That was it, pretty simple to make. I also applied a Happy Birthday stamp to the inside of the card.

I know what you mean. I have the create a sticker machine. It's an old one, just need to get the refill cartridge or break down and buy and new. Can't make up my mind, mainly because I don't have the instruction booklet it came with anymore and I wouldn't remember how to put the cartridge back in. But I love the little Xyron. It is definitely great for doing those letters. Or anything else for that matter. :)

Thank you for your comments AccrossthePond and Sandy. I won't get to work on much today, but hopefully over the weekend I can get to sketch 2. Going to teach a group of ladies how to make cards today. Should be a great opportunity. Waiting to see what they come up with for their card designs. Have a basic card design I'm using for them. So should be an interesting afternoon. Hopefully I will be able to take some pictures to show you guys what they have done and put them on my blog. That's what I'm hoping for. :)

Sorry, since I didn't see the very top of the card I assumed there was more to it that didn't show. The card is very colorful, like the sunflowers, the frame and sentiment are very nice. Your sister will enjoy recieving it.

Let me tell you Ladies...I think (no, I'm sure) these swirly-ma-jigs on this week's sketches gave me (more) white hairs. I wasted more paper trying to get these oh so delicate cuts to not mess up on me...thus the leaves on #1 and very little swirl to my swirls, on #2!!LOL

My Sketch Card #2
Butterfly - Stamping Cartridge

Embossing - Cuttlebug "Baby's Breath" folder (it's there!)
Swirls - Cindy Loo Cartridge
Added a heart-shaped button, made the bow from Valentine clearence ribbons I got at Michael's for 70% off. This pink ribbon has tiny glittered hearts on it, I also bought it in red and three other assorted Valentine ribbons that I can use year round( I LOVE good deals!!). Used glittered black cardstock to shadow the Butterfly and added tiny Bling to the body.

Hope you are all having a lovely Sunday. We have been very busy today, it has rained all day so found lots of in house stuff to do together.

Had a great time at my crop, did one and a half layouts Blushing but did loads of chatting. She had a great sale on too so I bought a bit.

A quick post to add a card.
I found this paper on clearance at Michaels and made a birthday card for tomorrow's blog post with it.
While looking at the scraps I decided I could do sketch #2 with them.

My colors are probably as far from the ad colors as possible but I reallly wanted to use the scraps before I put them away and forgot about them. lol.

Hello everyone! Lots of beautiful cards this week... I'm seeing lots of beautiful flourish used as well. I'll need to come back and write down where they all came from

This week is moving week so I've been waiting around a lot for different furniture delivery companies at the new house and packing / moving little stuff in between. Movers move all are old furniture this Friday and a few more new furniture delivery to wait for. Busy busy busy!

#2 - What a great way to use these bright animal print papers. The details blend in very nice with the print colors. Very nice!

Hello everyone! Beautiful cards and I will post my comments this evening. It is nice to see some familiar faces joining in this week! Sorry that I haven't been around as I was out-of-town on the weekend unexpectedly. I really do want to create a few cards with the sketches Sue so I will have to try them later on this week.

#2 - Love the butterfly paper and the ones you cut from it.
The gold butterfly is so pretty (which cart?), You know the answer to this Sneaky I cut it with the "other" machine as we all know cutting something this delicate with the Cricut does not always produce great results.
is it doubled or is that the light shadow?
Yes there is a second butterfly on top of the other one, I just glued down the body area and bent the wings up.

Lovely cards from all that posted will try and comment a little later.

It seems like everyone is extra busy with everyday life this week. LOL The same for me.

Lots of lovely cards posted. I did do one card this morning, and I guess that will be all I'll get done.
