I purchased new laptop (Sony Vaio ultrabook) with windows 8 installed. I too am experiencing problems at the initializing screen with the revolving c. I have adobe air installed as of yesterday so it should be up to date. I turned off fire wall. I'm not sure what to do next... Could someone advise me please. I sell something I make and have an order to go out :/ Thanks for any ideas you may have, Becky

I don't know if I'm doing this right, but tried to put a link here for you to read. NARELLE has the information you might need to get you up and going. If NARELLE's post isn't at the top of this link, go down to her post to see the information. Hope you get your laptop and CCR up and working. Char SORRY, the link is dead. I deleted it off this post. Go back to some of the SUBJECTS lines in this forum until you see WINDOWS 8....and look for Narelle's post. You have to change the compatability from WINDOWS 8 back to WINDOWS 7 and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR. Char Edited by user Thursday, March 07, 2013 10:03:08 AM(UTC)

Thanks again, Becky Why don't you try shutting down your computer, unplugging the USB cord from the hard drive AND unplugging your computer at the wall and/or turn off the power strip. After twenty or thirty seconds, go ahead and turn everything back on. Plug in the USB cord to the hard drive on your computer and turn on your CRICUT machine. Now, reboot your computer. BEFORE you turn off your computer, go to TOOLS (while on the internet) and DELETE BROWSING HISTORY. Let us know if this helps or if you need some further information. Char
