What am I doing wrong? I have been trying to cut out the flowers in the Craft Room. Every time the center portion of the flower, which is a more special design & circular the machine does good on the outer portion of the design but then tears up the center right off the matt. I have been using heavy card stock, on 5 with pressure of 4. Both times it did this, but I can cut out other fancy designs without problems. I even tried to make it a little larger but with no success. Can someday give me some ideas on what I should do. It's a new Cricut Mini so the blade is in good shape? Thanks

Try reducing the pressure and use multi-cut to make two passes. Sometimes, that works.

I'd do a multi-cut of 2-3 for heavy/thick cardstock, pressure of 5 and have your blade on the machine set to 6. I cut a ton of flowers last week to do a bouquet for my mom with those settings using my Pink E and had no trouble with the centers tearing. I used Flower Shoppe

I have found that my cuts will sometimes tear if I don't make sure I rub all around my paper when I put it on the mat.
Sometimes I even wait for it to start cutting and rub the paper real well right where I can see the cut is going to cut.
When my paper isn't stuck real well the middle cuts sometimes move while cutting and tear.
Hope this helps. D-

Thank You for your tips. I have had my pressure set too high. I tried multi- cut but made it worse maybe due to pressure. I will try this.

i was having same problem but i use a rubber spatula around the cut parts of the middle of the flower to keep my paper flat and then readjust the pressure so it would lift the paper it worked better for me
