My husband nierly mad me cry after. Spent a good 3 hours on this card. A coworker had to put her damnation down and I remembered a sympathy card that I saw on the paper pups thread. He sounded so disgusted that I would give someone a card that had their dog die and that I would spend so much time on it.

My husband asked me make a sympathy card for his boss who had his black lab put down. He (Gilmore) went to work every day since the day they brought him home. They loved the card and even put it in their office to remind them. I hope you still give it to the person it was meant for, they will appreciate it. Post a pic of your card I would love to see it.

I am an animal lover. I had three bassett hounds. They died one by one over a 4 year period. I so appreciated that others were thinking of my husband and I during this trying time. It was like burying a part of myself. It's beeen three years in Oct. and I still can not think of getting another. SO, a card to the owners is always appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't see anything wrong with you making a card. I love when people acknowledge my pets, they are my kids. Men CAN be insensitive sometimes. Edited by user Tuesday, September 28, 2010 6:28:21 PM(UTC)

Ok, here it is. Edit, for ingredients. Of course i used the paper pups cart. DCWV papers. I used a silver metalic pen to make the border around the pup and the wings. Pink Journey for the wings and Paper Doll dress up for the halo, colored with the silver metalic pen. Paper punches for the flower then added an old button after snapping the thing off in the back with wire cutters. I am so thankful for all the support i got. It means alot to me. I especially thank the one who inspired me...I am not sure what her name is here cause I googled it to find the image again. I found it at scrapbook.com. Tammy Edwards, NCScrapaddicts. I think it is an adorable card. I don't see anything wrong with this at all. Atleast you are letting your friend know that you care and I always would want someone by my side in a trying time. I have Shih-Tzu doggies and it would be like losing a family member if I lost one of them.

My animals are my children, my family. Some people don't understand that. To have someone spend the time to make a special card when I lose one is precious to me. Your card is absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing.

I love your card and think it's wonderful that you made a sympathy card for someone who has just lost their dog. For some people and I include myself in this category, a dog is not only family, she's also a best friend, confidante, and baby. For your husband not to understand that makes me think that he needs some sensitivity training.
Two of my dogs are senior citizens. My Chihuahua Heidi is almost 19 years old and my Daisy (the Bulldog in my profile picture) is almost 11 which is very old for a Bulldog. Both of my girls have been very ill this year and I know that my time with them has nearly come to an end so I cherish every single day that I still get to spend with them. I know that when the time comes and they make their way to the Rainbow Bridge in Heaven I will be devastated beyond words and if someone were kind enough to make me a card I would cherish it forever.
Please know that you did a wonderful thing and the person who receives your card will love it.

I love your card and it will surely be so appreciated by the persons receiving this. A pet is part of a family. And always a sad loss.

Your card is beautiful and I'm sure your friend appreciated it, even if your husband didn't. I've dreaded the day when we'll have to put my little boy down since the day we got him. I've never had a dog that was that attached to me before. I know I'd appreciate it when that day comes.
