I'm trying to cut doilies or placemats for under a 10.25 clear plate. Before I go buy a new cartridge, I'm just using what I have to experiment. The largest size circle that it cuts is 11 inches which is a tad small under the plate. Does anyone know if this is the largest circle cut size available on all cartridges or it's just the one I'm using. Thanks.

Pretty sure it wouldn't make a difference on the cart you are using..which machine are you using? If you have a fit to page feature does it just give you 11 inch? Also if you have a machine that you can select Real size use try that. Edited by user Saturday, February 16, 2013 1:07:46 PM(UTC)

I have the Expression. I did Fit to Page, and that gave me 11". I also tried Real Dial, tried it at 11.25 and I got the message that the characters wouldn't fit. I'm just wondering if all cartridges will do the same thing, if 11" is the default.

Ok just tried using Nifty Fifty cart, same thing it gave me 11 inch as fit to page, and 11 1/4 with the real size so yes that's the largest it will cut.

In CCR, PC takes 1/4" off our 12" mats on every side of a square. So, in effect, that is 1" taken off that a circle can fit on a 12"X12" square. You cannot go past the yellow markings on the mats in CCR. Now, whether that 1/4" on each side is taken off if you are using the CRICUT without CCR, I have no idea. BUT, I'm thinking you might be able to get a 12" circle manually? However, there were times I would try to cut an image manually (before CCR) that I couldn't cut it the size I thought I should be able to cut it....so, I think we get cut off manually, too. Char I did mine manually just using my Expression and it goes up to 11 1/4.

No matter what Cricut you are using or what Cricut design program {CCR, Gypsy or DS}, there is a 1/4 inch margin on each side where the blade cannot reach and therefore, images there cannot be cut.
