Wow, I need to catch up here!
scapypiggy.....No, I do not have my own room for my crafting. I share what used to be our living room with my boys and DH. We love books, and had quite a collection, so we turned the living room into a library/homework/project/crafting room. Bookshelves line the walls, and I have most of my card and scrapbooking goodness on the shelves amongst the books. We have an old kitchen table in the middle of the room, and that is where we do our projects, homework, reading, etc. at. The rest of my craft stuff is stored in our basement and other corners of the house. We are in the process of finishing the basement ourselves, so I will have a nice area with lots of shelves for storing everything in the open. I will still so everything in the library, though. It gets such wonderful light almost all day long. GG
Ladybug.....I got into card making from the painting that I do. When I would make a painting for someone, I would paint a miniature to match to use as a gift card. I still sometimes paint on my cards, since painting is my first love.
AliciaPettus......thank you for your hugs, feeling them right now! I learned how to do embossing and de-bossing from the MB, and also learned how to do stitching on my cards with gel pens.
scrapluvnsherry.....thanks so much! I find I use bling and beads the most on my cards. I love the little sticky back gems....sometimes they are exactly what a card needs. I like to make stick pins and hat pins, so that is where I use the beads the most, then find a way to incorporate the pin on the card.
STW....I live in OH.
MaryStillman....Bingo! Waiting for Godot's is my fave play, next to Shakespeare. I have acted in it, directed it, designed both costumes and sets for it, etc. for those that do not know, I have a degree in Theatre from Ohio University, and acted in a traveling Shakespeare company for 20 years, where I sometimes still do guest artist appearances. My DH started calling me Godot's Girl when he found out my history with the play, and it has stuck as a nickname ever since.
JD....my grandmother was a painter, and she taught me how to paint. I branched out from there. I tend to do things in cycles, painting for a while, then knitting, then quilting, etc. I love being blessed with the ability to craft. I like what I make, and I make it for myself and my God, since He gave me the desire to do so. So, if it does not meet others standards, I get over it....God must like it, because He keeps making me want to make things...lol.
Sandy......of course you can donate the items if you win!
Aden's Nana....I was watching HSN when they had the E2 on it that was the 5th anniversary edition. I was super curious about it, and had my DH watch, too. I researched a great deal after that about the Cricut and what it could do. Unbeknownst to me, DH was doing the same. He ended up giving me an AE E2 for Christmas that same year that someone had listed on Craig's list. I guess they had an E, and just did not like the E2.
Maria....so glad I could help you, thanks. I just started scrapbooking, so I do not have much to compare yet, but my fave thing so far has bee scrapping my boys at Halloween. I make their costumes, and they really get into being their character. So, I have some great pics as inspiration.
Scrapbooknut......yes, I have just started doing layouts, and so far have just scrapped what I have come upon that interests me. I tried chronological, but was. It always inspired. by what photos I had at the time. I found flipping through my albums until I found pictures that jumped out at me worked better. I have been doing mostly 12x12, but have done some 8 1/2 by 11.
mom2001.... Thanks for asking Julie. I miss talking to you. I am much stronger now, but still mostly confined to home. I am suppose to get to go back to church beginning in March, and cannot wait. Listening to the sermon is just not the same as being there. I have been out to the craft store a couple times, but have to wear gloves and a mask when I go, so people are a little freaked out by me..lol.
Soshescraps....I am a talkative person, and comment on just about everything I look at. Plus, I have been quite ill this past year....I have liver failure due to an auto immune disease, so the Message Board has been a great source of entertainment and comfort for me. I have gotten to know so many people, and have made several new friends. We often talk back and forth through posts. Also, because of my illness, I do not sleep well, so I have plenty of time to post.
Whew!! Thanks to all of you for entering. Blessings, GG
