Finally they had the cake carrier's at my local Dollar Tree so i got a few to mess around with. I ordered some chalkboard vinyl and wanted to try that out as well..cuts very nice..thought id put some on the carrier for one to write what is in it, or there name so it can be returned to the correct person. Just something plain for my first go round.

Just did these tonight, using From My Kitchen and Car Decal.

That is cute!!! So glad you were able to get your hands on some. They are so easy and so much fun to decorate! Have you been lucky enough to find any of the tumblers? I hit the jackpot the other day and found a lot at a Dollar Tree that had just opened. I purchased about 35 for myself, 5 for a neighbor and 10 for my mom. They had well over a hundred at that store. And such pretty colors too!!!

Can't wait to see what others you decorate!

i can't see the pics? i guess it is my setup since others can. i have seen the cake covers at dollar tree, what do the tumblers look like?
fyi, the cake thing will not actually hold a cake. you have to hold it from the bottom, not NOT the handle.. just a warning.(tested picking up by handle and top popped right off...)

That looks really nice! You did a great job. The chalkboard vinyl is so neat! I cut some fancy labels for my pantry containers - Rice and Kosher salt looks very similar, so the labels have been great!

What's your thoughts on the quality of the $ store tumblers? I have not seen any first hand (closest $ Tree is 50 miles away) - I have heard mixed reviews. Some say they are OK for gift/personal use, but they would never make them to sell due to the quality. I get mine from SaveACup, and they are not too bad of a price - under $4 each for small quantity order. I don't sell anything - just for fun.

Have you seen the tumblers with the damask design and the name over the top? OMStars! They are amazing. Does Cricut have a Damask type design or something similar that would work - they are so CUTE! I would post a pic, but the ones I have seen are not done on the Cricut.

Tumblers are the double walled come in different colors, had a lid and a straw in them. Here's one that i did awhile ago..

I just got the cake carriers so haven't actually tried putting anything in it, they aren't that tall so i'd probably put a pie in there, cheesecake something like that will have to test so if i give to someone they will know to be careful.

Most everything i do is for the fun of it, giving things away as gifts not much on selling. I've never actually used one of the tumblers, i always test the lid before buying at the $ Store, some weren't holding on to tight. No I havent seen any other tumblers decorated but then i don't look around either,lol..sure i can find them doing a Google search.

Ok did a search in Google saw the Damask ones and many others, i'd think Cricut has something similar like a flourish that you could use.

I figured they probably did. -- just did a search, there is a whole cartridge called Damask Decor! LOL Cool

I am sure it could be accomplished in CCR. I use something else, but they all seem capable of doing the same tasks - I loaded a damask design, did my name, and created an offset of it (shadow). I welded that to the damask design so that the damask and the offset/shadow cut out of the same piece of vinyl. I used the "original" name (unshadowed) and cut that out of the other color of vinyl. I loaded both colors on the mat, and cut at the same time.

I then layered the colored name over the damask and applied it to the tumbler.

Here was my inspiration - NO MY WORK - just my inspiration! :

The cake carriers work really well. I've given some away and kept some to use for myself. I was able to put about 20 standard sized cupcakes in mines.

Good luck and take those tumblers out of your stash and vinyl them up, lol!

I really like these. Practical and decorative.

Have been wanting to do some for my 2 DIL, but the ones at my Dollar Tree just aren't good quality.
Hoping to find a sale on cake carriers soon.
