Hey, can anyone give me some help.....my friend's usb port broke off in her gypsy....support said it's out of warranty - sorry. Then after looking online I see that this is not an isolated issue....it is a known problem....does anyone know who I can contact about this issue???

Some people have had good results bringing it into a tv repair shop (or phone repair) to have the usb thing re-soldered back in place.

My USB port on my Gypsy broke off. I tried taking it to a cell phone repair shop, they soldered the USB back on but the tiny connections to the motherboard remain broken, thus it still doesn't connect. The frustrating thing is that the machine itself if fine. I tried customer service and since it's out of warranty the only thing they offered was to re-serialize a new gypsy if I bought one. I miss my gypsy!!!! I'm looking around for another one, but since they are no longer manufacturing them used ones are insanely expensive.
FRUSTRATING!!!

same thing happened to mine, I took it to a cell phone repair shop. The gentlemen fixed it in a day, charged me 50.00, and all is as good as new.

Hello, the cricut.com web site offers Gypsy repair options. These options include a port repair. It also changes the battery with this repair. I hope that this helps!
