When using the CCR is it possible to remove areas of shapes I do not want to cut? For example the Partridge in the pair tree. I can cut the bird on it's own, but I also want to cut just the tree part of this, but cannot see how to detach it from the whole image. It would be very useful and save a lot of card if this can be done.
Thanks for any help with this.

What cartridge are you using? Click on EDIT at the bottom of the image when you get the handles around your image. You can EDIT anything off that turns red. So, if everything around the tree turns red when you put the cursor on it, you can click on eveything that turns red (until you have clicked on everything but the tree) and hit EXIT. Of course, you will not want to click on anything red that outlines the tree. Sometimes there are other parts that are attached; so, if you try to get rid of them it might get rid of the tree. I think you can work around that and if you tell us what cartridge you're using. Sometimes you EXIT and there is still something left that you want to EDIT off; so, just go back in again and do it. If you're using the partridge in Joys of the Season, no you'll not be able to EDIT the bird from the tree.
I would merely cut the image and cut the bird off and use the tree the way you want to use it.

Thanks, but I wanted to cut lots of them and felt it was a huge waste of card to cute them all out and then proceed to cut off and throw most of the shape away!

If I like the tree that much, I would do it. You can use the birds on a lot of other projects....unless you're not that fond of using birds on your projects. NO WASTE there.
