I received the Spring 2013 issue of CardMaker Magazine last week and 'fell in love' with the card on the front. The directions/instructions on pages 16-17 are detailed and easy to follow.

The card takes a while to make, so I have divided the card into 2 phrases. The directions for Phase 1 (creating the card base) are on my blog today. I plan to post Phase 2 (adding the cascading flowers) tomorrow.

Please visit my blog for more information and instructions for Phase 1 (creating the card base).

Oh wow! Now that is beautiful! I love all the flowers. Where do you buy that magazine? Do you have to order it or do places like Walmart sell them? Do you know?

Thanks Janis

Thank you for all the kind comments! I treasure each one!

I have had a subscription to the magazine for years. This is my all time favorite card making magazine! I have seen it on the shelf in Joann's and Michaels, but they sell out quickly. I would think the major bookstores probably carry it as well. I have never seen it at Walmart.

The card base if made according to the magazine instructions takes 1 sheet of 12x12 cardstock. However, I used a second sheet to add a folded card base to the back of the cascading section. I wanted it to have a place for messages/sentiments.

Thank you for your kind words.

I tried all the links to my blog and each one went to the blog. I'm not sure what happened when you tried. Here is the direct link to my blog, maybe that will work?

WOW ... What a gorgeous card! Love all those fabulous flowers! I have always liked this card design, but have never made one myself (it looks so complicated). Thanks for sharing the step-by-step "how to" instructions on your Blog ... that is awesome!

If you google "making cascade cards", you will find a lot of different embellishments, also a couple of videos showing how to cut the base. You can use two different colours too!
