I have set the date for my 3rd annual CROPPIN WITH MY FRIENDS!! This year it will be held the weekend of SEPTEMBER 27,28 AND 29TH. Crop hours will be Friday 3pm-9pm, Saturday 8am-9pm, and Sunday 8am-3pm. Plan to come for one day, 2 days, or all 3 days! Crop fee will be $75 this year and includes Friday supper, Saturday lunch and supper, and Sunday breakfast. No overnight accomadations are included. There will also be door prizes!! Crop tshirts can be ordered for an additional $10 each when fees are paid.
The crop is held at the Sandburg Mall Community room, in Galesburg, Illinois (midway between Moline and Peoria). It is NOT too early to make your motel reservations, or to find others to carpool and/or share a motel room with!!

Nearby motels (right across from the mall)include:
Country Inns and Suites (309)344-4444
Fairfield Inn (309)344-1911
Comfort Inn (may of changed names but still there!) (309)344-5445

Still in town and easy to get to (maybe 5-10 min. drive):
Best Western Prairie Inn (309)343-2113
Holiday Inn Express (309)343-7100

There is also a camp ground nearby, if anyone needs info on it let me know!

It is not time to pay your crop fees, and won't be until about August, so you have plenty of time to save up the money for them! I keep the fees as low as I can but food costs and the room rent are always increasing! There is definately no profit in this crop for me! Any money left after supplies, room rent and food goes toward door prizes.

Don't forget to plan ahead and get the weekend off from work, line up a babysitter, and things like that!! I hope all those who have come in the past 2 years come again, and many new friends from the mb!! If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask on here or pm me!

By all means invite your MIL to come too Rhonda! She is more than welcome to join us! As far as the tshirts, they will probably be either black or grey. The ones this past year were a lot better quality than the first year. I ordered them locally and will again this year. I will take sizes when pmts are made for the shirts.

Jess, sure we could find something for dh to do while you are craftin!! What does he like to do? Or maybe if he doesn't want to come you can find some others to car pool with!!

Denise...We also have airports within 45 minutes in 2 directions! Moline and Peoria!! A rental car or maybe I can work out someone to pick you up! We hate to think of you pouting!!

Jess and Denise, it would be so neat to meet both of you!!! See what you can work out!!

I was talking to my husband about this and he says to plan on it. His brother has access to hunting land near the Highlands, how far is that from you? He was thinking we could make it a road trip. I'm not sure there would be enough room in the truck for my crafting and his hunting stuff BigGrin BigGrin Of course that means I need to figure out what to do with the kids.

If I did fly in what "equipment" and supplies would I need to bring ? I have never been to a big crop like this.

When do you need to know for sure ?

Making plans to be there as well. Traci and I are going to probably come together and share hotel accommodations. I'm putting it on the calendar. Won't know for 100% sure till right before school starts. I'm thinking I'm going to homeschool this year. So, I'll let you know for sure when we get closer

I probably won't be able to make it this year, unless there is someone who wants to carpool along the way ... DH does one silly thing a year, the Tippman world challenge paint ball weekend and it is the same weekend ... I would drive with company, so if there is anyone between Buffalo and Cleveland ...

I have already told DH unless something major comes up I am planning to go to this. Rebecca and I are either driving together ThumbDown or flying then renting a car. If we fly someone is welcome to meet us at the airport and ride with us. DH travels A LOT so I am hoping if we have to rent a car it will be either free or nearly free. Driving might be better because how do you bring enough stuff when you fly!?

Oh Candy, that is so sad...Hopefully you can find someone to carpool with cause we would love to have you here again! Keeping my fingers crossed!! I had to move the weekend this year (again) because of college homecomings. What a pain they are when they take over all the motels!!

Rebecca and Traci...now that would be just wonderful if you both can come!! I can see where flying with your scrapping stuff could be tough though!! Never thought of that!! Of course, some of the ones who have come in the past just bring a few projects they want to work on and what they will need for that and it cuts down on how much suppliess they have to bring! You could also ship (mail or ups) stuff up to me and I could have it there waiting when you arrive!

Laura...I am not familiar with the Highlands, but maybe if you tell me a little more I can figure out how close we are to it! And as far as supplies, I do supply 2 or 3 cricuts and a bunch of cartridges everyone can use, just ask each to bring their own mats and if there is a particular cartrige you will be wanting to use make sure I have it or you may need to bring it. Otherwise you need to bring whatever you will be needing to get your stuff done! Oh, and I also took my Vagabond and Kim took her cuttlebug for everyone to use. If you choose to fly in, you can always ship some of your supplies and I can have them there waiting when you arrive!

This is exciting, we might get to meet some more of our mb friends this year!!

Oh, and of course as the time gets much closer I will supply directions for any of you driving in either from your homes or from an airport!! It is easy to get here from both airports and very easy to find the mall once you arrive in town!!

Rebecca/Traci....it would be awesome to meet you both...it was soo much fun the first year I went. Had a blast. I didn't take much only the things needed to make a MINI ALBUM...and finished it there. WHen GrandmaJ says there are carts to use...Ohh yeah...TONS of them, 2 cricuts, a cuttlebug, and One of the ladies(KIM?) had her vegabond there. Everyone is kind to let you borrow them too.

Wow - Can't wait to see everyone again. Candy - I do hope you can figure out carpooling - it would be great if you and Denise are close enough to do so BigGrin

Trvkladd - good luck with homeschool decision. I have only two left at home now - next year a Junior and a Senior, so am on the finishing up side. It has been a ton of work, very frustrating at times, but something we would never trade. We didn't start out looking to home school. Due to school situations, it was kind of thrust upon us. However, we believe that God has been with us the entire journey and it has been wonderful.

Laura - if you are flying in - let us know what tools you will want and I bet we can have them on hand. I know I brought both my gypsy (that tool is wonderful to transport cartridges) and others do as well so cartridges usually aren't too much of an issue.

Looking forward to this trip - already have work booked as off and planning a visit with DS on one end of the trip!

Scraprageous, I am so glad you get to come back this year!! And you are on it with the planning already!!

I am sure many of us would be willing to share tools with anyone who chooses to fly in. Especailly basic things like heat gun, stamping acrylic blocks, paper trimmer...things like that! Amazing how much space (and weight) just our tools can use!!

Jenny, since Idon't need a definate answer until crop fees are due in August, you should have plenty of time to get the football schedule! Hope you can at least come for part of the weekend!! You will be amazed at all the inspiration that is in that room all weekend!!

Jackie....If you were going all weekend we could car pool...YOU could stop off at my place and we can share a ride up together....I did this with two friends from Ohio the first year....it was awesome!!!

Is M&KGrandma coming this year?????? She could also do carpool with me if she wanted....

Heather hasn't been on the board in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG Time so I'm not sure there....

If I don't get a seat at Circle Mania, I've got this in my sights! You have to fly everywhere from where I am in South Texas, so Peoria won't be a problem for me! I'll have to rent a car at the airport, and that will be the worst cost, unless someone else flying in would be willing to split the cost on that... Just an idea. September is sooooo far away...
