I have set myself the daunting task of scrapbooking all the pictures of my mother. I have done pictures starting in the late 20's to the 70's. The 70's, apparently, were the era of really bad cameras. The pictures are grainy and unfocused. I have cleaned them up but they are of poor quality still. Should I use them? There will be a gap of at least 10 years.

I think you should still use it, journaling about the picture can give the viewer a more in depth descrisption also doing some distressing can tie them all together

Use them. The crap quality is part of the charm. They have character. Kodak disc and instamatic cameras.... those were the worst offenders.

I'd do them - it's also a reminder for future generations about poor fashion color combos - I know my parents have a photo from the 70's where 1 person has a top with huge hot pink and orange flowers on it...another person has one with huge brown, orange and yellow amoebas...and they are standing between someone with blue & red plaid pants with a yellow/brown/orange/pink horizontal stripe top....all of which are my relatives. Thankfully, I wasn't in the photo because my pink & white plaid polyester pant suit would have clashed!

When my GD was 2 I gave her mother some clothes that she had worn when she was 2 and one was a polyester dress. Her husband said "What kind of material is that" He is 10 years younger than she is and never heard of polyester! Now that I think about it, I still have 2 pair of polyester slacks with the large cuffs on the bottom,,,one us red/white check and one light pink!
