I want to try out my cartridge I bought but if it won't work I don't want to open it and not be able to return it. I know I don't have the expression...

Hello! Without a little more details I am not sure how to answer your question. However, weather you have a personal cutter or an Expression you will be able to use any of the original cartridges. The only cartridges that will not work are cartridges labeled as Imagine cartridges. I hope that this helps! -Cricut Gena
