When I cut with my new expression 2, the mat goes crooked and cuts thing badly, then gets jammed while trying to exit the machine.

You have probably checked this, but the E2 comes with mat guides that you have to slip the mat under. I did not know that when I first got mine, and loaded the mat incorrectly. So, I thought I would mention it just in case. If it is not that, make sure you push the mat evenly against the rolling bar as the machine starts to load. It gets pulled in crooked if you do not. Someone else may have more to suggest, if neither of those work for you. You can also call Customer Service. I have had to call them a few times, and they are always very friendly and helpful.
