I recently bought a cute handmade notebook and thought it would make a great gift, so got busy figuring out how to make one myself. I just made this one today, and embellished it with Jolee's stickers. The others pictured I made and gave to the girls at work for Christmas. I did not use my Cricut except for some circles, but just think of how creative it could get with Cricut cuts!
They are super easy to make.

Those are adorable!! I love all of the papers, colors. I'm assuming you created a template to wrap the books. Love them and I'm sure the gift receipents did too.TFS

I took a stab at writing the instructions - hope they make sense!
Supplies:
2 pieces cardstock (1 needs to be 12 x 12)
1 printed paper ( or more if you want different designs, like my orchid one)
Velcro fastener
Base of book:
On a 12” X 12” piece of cardstock, score across the page at 3 7/8” from the bottom
From top to bottom, score at 3”, 3 3/8”, 8 ½”, and 8 7/8”
Attach printed paper on both end sections above bottom score line
Fold up bottom at score line. Secure with adhesive at left and right edge only to form a pocket. (I used Terrifically Tacky Tape here)
Attach printed paper on left and right sections of pocket. Insert back of paper pad into center of pocket.
Front of book:
Cut 3 tags 4 ½” x 2 1/2 “ from cardstock. Add printed paper.
Fold book closed. Adhere printed paper to right flap only.
Attach tags to left flap.
Attach Velcro fastener pieces to middle tag and right flap.( I suggest having the paper pad inserted before attaching the Velcro for accurate placement.)
Embellish as desired.

Oops - didn't think to add that! I used 5"x8" notebooks from Office Depot. I bought the package of 12 and I know it was under $10, just don't remember the exact price.

I love these notebooks. I will try my luck at making one and if it goes well I will make more for the ladies at my Bible study. I think I will add a strip of decorative paper to the top of the notepad too. These are really great looking. I'm sure your friends have liked them. Thanks for sharing.

thank you for sharing these notebooks i made one tonight i went to walmart and got the notebooks we dont have a staples by us and they work good thank you once again
